Pelosi, Obama and crew are going to do whatever the can to nationalize, socialize, health care and turn us into government dependent drones. PLEASE don't let up! They're still working on this health care, they haven't stopped. They're playing games to lull us into complacency. Don't let up!!! Urge your friends and family to call, write, sign petitions, keep up the fight to save health care, and to save our democracy.
The following is a message from the Conservative Underground on Facebook (links won't work unless you're signed into Facebook. If you're not on Facebook, you can simply delete the facebook portion of the URL and go to the links).
Conservative Underground:
Some of you may have been lulled into a false sense of security because of a brief delay in Nancy Pelosi’s House health care nationalization bill. Don’t be. Talks are back on and Pelosi aims to pass the bill next week or shortly after:
http://www.facebook.com/l/;http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090725/ap_on_go_co/us_health_care_overhaul.
More: http://www.facebook.com/l/;http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106946745. If Democrats think they can ram this home they obviously have a reason to think it.
This is not the time to let up. The calls and faxes from patriots all across the nation are the only reason this bill has been slowed down in the first place.
The Democratic opposition is rebuilding momentum now because our intensity is flagging. It’s time to get back on the ball immediately.
Do not let your conscience rest knowing that you did nothing during this critical time.
There are patriots in Iraq and Afghanistan enduring unfathomable difficulties on behalf of our freedoms; they fight, they bleed, they return home with missing limbs, they return home paralyzed from the neck down, many of them return home in flag-covered coffins. All you have to do, on the other hand, is make some phone calls.
Here, again, are the things you need to do NOW:
1) Sign this petition: http://www.facebook.com/l/;http://www.freeourhealthcarenow.com/form.php. (Seriously, this is the easiest thing in the world to do.)
2) Call these seven Democrats:
Zack Space (D-Ohio): 1-202-225-6265
Reps. John Barrow (D-Ga.): 1-202-225-2823
Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.): 1-202-225-4231
Baron Hill (D-Ind.): 1-202-225-5315
Jim Matheson (D-Utah): 1-202-225-3011
Charlie Melancon (D-La.): 1-202-225-4031
Mike Ross (D-Ark): 1-202-225-3772

These are the so-called “blue dogs” on the Energy and Commerce Committee. With the right pressure they can stop this from even coming to a vote. Tell them you oppose government-run healthcare and that you know damn good and well that’s exactly what the House bill is. If the congressman isn’t from your district (obviously, all seven can’t be) and you get any crap about calling outside your district then simply explain that this legislation effects everyone, and that you are more than capable of sending campaign contributions to opponents of the aforementioned representatives, regardless of district. Usually, though, you won't get any nonsense about that; the people who answer the phone are used to receiving calls from other states and other districts. Be polite, but be firm! NO NATIONALIZED HEALTH CARE! PERIOD! No “compromise bills” that take us three steps in the wrong direction as opposed to four. No “public option.” No coverage for illegals. None of it. Hands off our health care. End of story. If someone tries to argue with you tell them not to bother; you know what they’re up to and you’re not buying it. If you get an answering machine (and you probably will if you call on the weekend), that’s fine; just leave a message. If you get a busy signal, call back.
3) Call your own representatives. If you want to email and fax them in addition to calling them that’s even better, but BE SURE you call them. That’s the most immediate and effective way to go on record for or against any kind of legislation. Here’s the contact info for Congress: http://www.facebook.com/l/;http://www.house.gov/. If you don’t know who your Congressman is you can find out by looking in the upper left hand corner where it says “Find Your Representative.” Just enter your zip code in the space provided; a link with your representative’s name will pop up. Follow the link and you should be able to find all of your representative’s contact info. Usually there will be either be a “contact” tab that will take you directly to your representative’s contact info or a “services” tab that opens up a drop-down menu that includes a “contact” link.
4) Lastly, SPREAD THE WORD! It’s high time people started to wake up. If there are people you know who don’t have this info and don’t know what’s going on, enlighten them. They must be awakened—rudely, if need be. If you have your own Facebook group, send the info out that way. The media does not get our message out, so it’s up to each of us to be the Paul Reveres of the 21st century.
Sincerely,
Misha

Senate takes up concealed weapons measure
A measure taken up by the Senate Monday would give people the right to carry concealed weapons across state lines as long as they obey the concealed gun laws of the state they are visiting.
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., said his proposal would reduce crime by providing reciprocity to carry concealed firearms. "My legislation enables citizens to protect themselves while respecting individual state firearms laws," he said.

Winning contests...
Pinocchio, Snow White, and Superman are out for a stroll in town one day.
As they walk, they come across a sign: "Beauty contest for the most beautiful woman in the world."
"I am entering!" said Snow White.
After half an hour she comes out and they ask her, "Well, how'd you do?"
"First Place!," said Snow White.
They continue walking and they see a sign: "Contest for the strongest man in the world."
"I'm entering," says Superman.
After half an hour, he returns and they ask him, "How did you make out?"
"First Place," answers Superman. "Did you ever doubt?"
They continue walking when they see a sign: "Contest! Who is the greatest liar in the world?"
"I'm entering," says Pinocchio.
After half an hour he returns with tears in his eyes.
"What happened?" they asked.
"Who the heck is Nancy Pelosi?" asked Pinocchio.

Stop Robert Groves / U.S. Census Bureau Nominee
Dear Liberty Activist,
Today, Americans for Limited Government would like to bring your attention to another Barack Obama nomination that deserves your scorn: Robert Groves for the U.S. Census Bureau.
Please call your representatives in the Senate and tell them to not to invoke cloture on this critical nominee unless and until both he and White House confirm—in writing—that Mr. Groves will not be directed by President Obama to hire ACORN employees to count the 2010 Census, nor to use any statistical adjustments or sampling in counting the Census. Thus far the Administration and Mr. Groves have refused to give any response at all in writing.
This is unacceptable.
Senator David Vitter has courageously placed a hold on this nominee but now he needs your help to encourage his colleagues not vote in favor of cloture until the White House and Mr. Groves give the requested information in writing. The American people have a right to know if Barack Obama intends on corrupting the Census or not.
If Mr. Groves has nothing to hide, he and Barack Obama should say so in writing, as Mr. Vitter has requested. Harry Reid is threatening a cloture vote on Mr. Groves' nomination on Monday, which means there is no time to lose. The switchboard number is (202) 224-3121.
In today's Liberty Action Report, the White House refuses to confirm in writing that it will not direct Robert Groves to hire ACORN employees, the Hot Earthers can't seem to make up their mind about what is actually happening to the climate, and the Blue Dogs may not want to draw straws to see who votes for the ObamaCare bill. Plus, Senator Orrin Hatch professes his belief in "limited" government.
Please send your letters to the editor at Robert@getliberty.org. We publish all points of view!
Today, Charles Franz of Sudan, Texas writes in part, "The people of Liberty Action must take back our country and get a majority in the house and senate this next year. We cannot wait until 2012 to get this stopped. We need McCain to get on national T.V. and tell the people that Palin did nothing but help his campaign… Sarah Palin is the only one with the spirit to change Washington... If you run her down we will eat you up. The Republicans have a bad habit of being nice and letting the opposition run over them. It is time to change, get tough. McCain would have won last year if he and the Republicans would have stood up and defended Palin."
Thanks, Charles. I'm not sure that Sarah Palin needs John McCain to be her defender. She does a pretty good job of that herself!
Take care, and have a great weekend, all!

Editorial: Tell the Senate to Say NO to Robert Groves and ACORN Corruption!
Barack Obama -- the former attorney for the corrupt Association of Community Organization and Reform Now (ACORN) -- has now nominated for Census Bureau czar a man who (perhaps not surprisingly) refuses to rule out paying ACORN lieutenants tens of millions of tax dollars to, of all things, count the number of Americans who should receive federally funded hand-outs and be allowed to vote.
Now, remember, this is the very same ACORN group that is currently under investigation for committing electoral fraud in 12 states during the most recent election cycle alone, including Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin. And it's the same group whose malfeasance dates back at least to 1998, when its Project Vote contractor was arrested in Arkansas for falsifying 400 voter registration cards.
In King County, Washington, in 2008, elections officials were forced to remove 1,762 voter registrations submitted by ACORN. In Delaware County, Pennsylvania, nearly 1,200 fraudulent voter registrations were submitted by ACORN. In Cleveland, Ohio, ACORN registered one voter 77 times. And in Chicago, 10,000 false registrations were submitted.
No wonder Chicago is Barack Obama's kind of town. Clearly, his kind of people tally the votes there. Which may explain why in 2008, his presidential campaign paid ACORN operatives a whopping $800,000 to register voters. And why Investor's Business Journal called Mr. Obama "ACORN's Senator."
In view of all this, it is little wonder that on earlier this year, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) asked Obama Census Czar nominee Robert Groves and the White House for a firm commitment that he would not hire ACORN operatives to count the U.S. populace by asking them to confirm it in writing. And it is even less wonder that Mr. Vitter has now put a hold on the Groves' nomination, since Mr. Groves and the White House have thus far refused to extend the Senator even the courtesy of a response, let alone a commitment to protect the sanctity of the census from the voraciously corrupt ACORN lieutenants.
What is at stake in this situation is much more than a mere uneven headcount; it is the corruption of the voting process itself. If ACORN is allowed to skew its census count the way it has repeatedly skewed its voter registrations, key decisions as to where and how federal funds are distributed will be at stake. And the redrawing of congressional boundaries will be at the mercy of ACORN operatives' decisions as to whom they wish to count and whom they don't.
If ACORN lieutenants decide to lose a few hundred thousand citizens in districts where Republicans are strong – such as the South and West -- those voters could be deprived of congressional representation. And if they decide to add on a few hundred thousand in areas where Democrats dominate – such as major urban areas – those cities could find themselves with additional votes in the halls of Congress.
In short, to put it bluntly: if ACORN is allowed to corrupt the census as it has, time and again, corrupted voter registration, the fragile fabric of democracy could be forever destroyed.
That's what is at stake. And that's why Americans from all walks of life, from either party, and from every area of the country must support the Vitter hold on Robert Groves.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has threatened to invoke a cloture vote Monday morning to break Mr. Vitter's hold on Mr. Groves. It's time to tell the members of the Senate in no uncertain terms: "If Robert Groves and the White House won't commit to keeping ACORN away from the census count, we want him kept away from the Census Bureau." The Senate switchboard number is 202-225-3121.

Blue Blood in the Water
By Robert Romano
There's blue blood in the water.
Congressman Mike Ross (AR-CD4), chairman of the Blue Dog Health Care Task Force, dropped a bombshell yesterday on Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi's plans to implement a so-called public "option" for health care.
Ross stated that if the House Majority brings their bill to the floor as proposed, an "overwhelming majority" of his 52 member coalition would vote against it.
As well they should, a group that claims that their "top priority will be to refocus Congress on truly balancing the budget and ridding taxpayers of the burden the national debt places on them."
Congressman Ross' statement is encouraging, but it needs to be backed up by action to defeat any proposal that threatens to bankrupt the nation by creating another unsustainable entitlement.
With the national debt now soaring above $11.4 trillion, unfunded liabilities in Medicare and Social Security totaling $104 trillion, a proposed annual budget of $3.6 trillion, and a projected deficit of $1.8 trillion this year alone, a vote in favor of a trillion dollar government-run health care plan would decidedly be against Blue Dog, fiscal conservative principles.
And with legislation moving through Congress at a frightening speed this year—trillion dollar "stimulus," carbon energy taxes, nearly a $4 trillion dollar budget, and now healthcare—with only 178 House Republicans, the only chance at saving privately-provided health options will be if Democrats vote against their leadership, and against this legislation.
But that will only happen if pressure is brought to bear on each and every member of the Blue Dog coalition and beyond. They must hear from the more than 201.7 million constituents who possess privately-provided health care as of 2007—and would undoubtedly like to keep it and not be forced to trade it in for a substandard government plan.
For, unless the users of health care defend what is rightly theirs, the so-called public "option" will take over the entire system, devouring all other options.
What's worse is the exact details are not yet publicly known of the plan. And it is moving swiftly: House Democrat leaders plan on unveiling it today, and committee votes are expected as early as next week.
Only there's just one small problem. They have not even shown it to their Blue Dog colleagues yet.
"We've just got a lot of questions and the top of the list would be how to pay for it," said Congressman Marion Berry (AR-CD1). That, of course, is an excellent question, since the only way to pay for any new spending programs with the country in such a steep deficit will be to borrow more cash from overseas, raise taxes, or print more dollars.
And in all of the above financing alternatives, the American people will wind up paying more. Borrowing too much leads to higher interest rates as U.S. debt becomes less attractive of an investment. Raising taxes obviously takes more money away from Americans to purchase their own health options. And firing up the printing presses leads to inflation, which will mean higher prices on just about everything, including health care, thus fueling the bottom line of whatever proposal is enacted. But that may not even be the worst of it. An even more fundamental question to be answered about the so-called public "option" is: Who will qualify?
If it is truly to be an option for all Americans, then in principle everyone would qualify. And if that's the case, say goodbye to private health care, as everyone starts lining up for government freebies.
Advocates of the public "option" claim that it will be "cheaper" than private care. That they want to cut health care costs—which in reality means price controls that unfortunately always lead to shortages. It will also put private insurers who attempt to compete out of business, since they cannot borrow trillions of dollars to stay in the black.
As a result, even if government does not issue free health care outright, and just heavily subsidizes individuals and employers to switch to the government plan, the net effect will still be a state-run monopoly that crowds out private options, long lines at the doctor's office, and a declining quality of care as doctors are forced to take pay cuts and yet work even longer hours.
So, the Blue Dog Democrats really ought to consider the 201.7 million American people who like the quality of their privately-provided health care that is unparalleled anywhere in the world. Because they do not need "more time" to consider this plan.
They need to know that there's somebody in Congress who is going to fight to help them keep their options.

ALG Editor's Note: Being consistent in one's beliefs and actions is nearly impossible. And for elected officials, the same is true with regards to the core principle of limited government. For, if the American people are ever to regain control over their rogue government, everyone must insist that words and deeds match up—we are past the time when we can accept pledges of devotion to liberty, we must demand actions in the cause of liberty.
The Charleston Post & Courier has a prime example of why watching what a politician does is far more important than listening to what he or she says:
Hatch wanders out of bounds
Thursday, July 9, 2009
Early this year, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, told colleagues, "Our liberty depends on limited government." Lately, he's applied that worthy concept to timely alarms about a virtual federal takeover of health care.
Then on Tuesday, he rashly benched his "limited government" pitch during an all-out blitz against college football's Bowl Championship Series.
Sen. Hatch, fortunately the only lawmaker present during much of a wasted two-hour Judiciary Committee hearing, expressed severe frustration over the exclusion of the Utah Utes — unbeaten champions of the Mountain West Conference — from last season's BCS national-title game: "Frankly there is an arrogance about the BCS that just drives me nuts."
Sen. Hatch touted "a fairly strong antitrust case" against the BCS for operating an "illegal monopoly" of six conferences to the detriment of other leagues, including the Mountain West. University of Utah President Michael Young, in testimony Tuesday, echoed Sen. Hatch, declaring: "Championships should be decided by competition, not conspiracy."
OK, so many sports fans, including President Barack Obama, detect flaws in the BCS. That doesn't mean the fixes for it should come from Washington — or a federal court.
Anyway, the plucky Utes' upset victory over Alabama in last season's Sugar Bowl doesn't prove that they could have gone unbeaten in a BCS league. Despite ample investments of financial resources and fervent rooting, our own Clemson Tigers (in the BCS member Atlantic Coast Conference) and South Carolina Gamecocks (in the BCS member Southeastern Conference) have combined for a mediocre 24-24 record in league play over the last three seasons.
BCS injustice doesn't merit Justice Department intervention. Sen. Hatch, by trying to call college football's plays, is fumbling the "limited government" ball.

Watch Sen. Orrin Hatch Expose Democrats' Abortion Agenda in Health Care
Yesterday (7/9/09) in the key Senate health committee the Senate Democratic leadership's goal of universal abortion coverage at taxpayer expense was front and center when Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) introduced an amendment that moved health care "reform" one step closer to forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions for the first time in 30 years. Click the screencap below to watch Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) expose Sen. Mikulski's hidden agenda:
Click for movie
It's certainly ironic that Sen. Mikulski and the committee Democrats would consider taxpayer-funded abortions to be a health care benefit since the baby gets no health care benefit from abortion. President Obama and the Democratic leadership claim they want to 'reduce' abortion, but you don't reduce abortion by funding it.
When it comes to taxpayer funding of abortion, the Democrats are out of step with the American people who according to polls consistently oppose the practice by more than a 2 to 1 margin. Please watch the video today and sign our petition to stand against your tax dollars being taken to fund the abortion industry.
Watch proof of Democrats' abortion agenda in health care 'reform' and then sign the petition to keep abortion out of any health care overhaul

The Palin Saga - Democrats Winning by Any Means
By Frances Rice
“Why Sarah Palin Quit: The Five Best Explanations” by Jay Newton-Small quotes Alaska state legislators who lay the blame at the door of the Democrats. Quoted is Alaska State Senator Gene Therriault, a Republican representing the town of North Pole who said: "We started seeing a proliferation of ethics complaints against her. It was an orchestrated effort to take her down”. That article can be found on the Internet at: http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1908800,00.html
Governor Sarah Palin’s surprising resignation announcement in the face of the horrific treatment she received from Democrats and their media allies struck within me a familiar cord. Although Palin’s abuse was mental harassment inflicted through public humiliation via spoken and written words and mounting debt from frivolous ethics charges, she was nonetheless effectively hounded out of public office. This brought to mind the sinister tactics used by Democrats against Republicans after the American Civil War that freed blacks from slavery.
Determined to keep blacks in virtual slavery after losing the Civil War, Democrats set about the task of ending Reconstruction and driving out of the South all Republicans, a result that kept blacks at the mercy of ruthless Democrats for over 100 years.
The facts about the horrors inflicted upon Republicans by Democrats are laid bare in the books “A Short History of Reconstruction” by Dr. Eric Foner and “Unfounded Loyalty” by Wayne Perryman.
The meticulous research by Foner and Perryman uncovered inhumanity by Democrats so startling as to seem surreal. Democrats, Perryman wrote, used every means possible to destroy Reconstruction including lynching, whippings, murder, intimidation, assassinations and mutilations.
Foner exposed how the Ku Klux Klan, that was founded in 1866 as a Tennessee social club and became the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party, spread into nearly every Southern state, launching a “reign of terror” against Republican leaders, black and white. The Klan lynched over 2,000 black Republicans and 1,000 white Republicans.
In a chilling passage Foner wrote: “Jack Dupree, a victim of a particularly brutal murder in Monroe County, Mississippi - assailants cut his throat and disemboweled him, all within sight of his wife, who had just given birth to twins - was ‘president of a republican club‘ and known as a man who ‘would speak his mind’” .
Sarah Palin is a woman who speaks her mind. She is a decent and honorable citizen who loves her family and country. Palin was subjected to a high-tech lynching by Democrats and their media minions because she had the audacity to be a Republican elected official and an apparent great political threat to the Democratic Party’s ruling elite.
For nearly a century, most blacks were aligned with the Republican Party and, thereby, posed a significant threat to the Democratic Party’s quest for power. Terror was used by Democrats for 100 years and monetary handouts for the past 50 years to mold blacks into reliable pawns in the Democratic Party’s political power game. It is ironic that the Democratic Party is now led by President Barack Obama, a black man who unabashedly helps Democrats keep blacks corralled on the Democratic Party’s economic plantation, voting mindlessly for any politician identified as a Democrat.
America, how did we come to the point where we are all held in the Democratic Party’s iron grip of fear of being destroyed personally, as was Sarah Palin, while the Democrats work feverishly to make us economic slaves?
A mock liberal rant, “I Still Hate You, Sarah Palin - The Republicans bring a knife to a gunfight, and lose again” by David Kahane presents a hysterical tirade against Palin by a fictional Democratic Party operative. A comparison of Kahane’s feigned scorn with the real hatred directed at Palin by Democrats shows that his article is close to reality. My biggest beef with Governor Mark Sandord
Yes, I have serious problems with the fact that Governor Mark Sanford betrayed his marriage vows and the trust of those who elected him in South Carolina. If I wanted to get into those areas I could write volumes. He has a lot to answer for to his wife, children and everyone who respected him.
However, my biggest beef with Sanford is his stupidity, his lack of political savvy, his inability to see the big picture and the devastation his acts would cause.
What made this man think he could do what he did and be invisible? What inner weakness made him willing to toss away everything for a woman? Guess that one's an age-old question.
However, age old questions aside...
Anyone in the public eye these days should know that they can't get away with anything for long. If they haven't been caught or outed already, there's someone somewhere holding onto the juicy tidbit just waiting for the right moment to use the info. Whether they want to use the indiscretion to blackmail, coerce or destroy, there is a political opponent who's hanging onto the ticking time bomb with hand-rubbing glee.
Sanford of all people should have known that once he defied Obama his opponents would be coming after him... big time. He should have known they'd be watching him like a hawk, digging for dirt and trying to find his weaknesses. Unfortunately, that's politics. In fact, it's not just politics, it's business, it's life.
But for someone who's ratcheted up their visibility in the political arena to be so stupid as to think they could have an affair and NOT get caught is the ultimate idiocy.
Especially as a Republican, as a self-proclaimed Conservative.
Sure, we all make mistakes.
Sure, we all do silly things, sometimes stupid things, when we're in the throes of love or lust.
But you don't thrust yourself into the national arena, take a stand against whoever is in the highest office in the country and then expect to be invisible. It compounds the indiscretion, it magnifies the betrayal because you've thrust yourself into the spotlight and touted your values. You've asked to be a figure of trust for not only your family, fellow church members and local voters, but for your Party and the country as a whole.
What the heck did this man think when he decided to take off to another part of the world to be with a woman? with the "other" woman??? Never mind, I already know the answer to that one... we know he wasn't thinking about anything but his own self-gratification.
At a time when more than anything we need strong leaders with a strong core, Sanford let not just his wife and family down, he let his country down, he let every person who believed in what he was "selling" down.
The last thing Republican's need at this critical time in our country is to be opening doors for anyone to attack with credibility.
Look at Sarah Palin. She has done nothing wrong, she stands on principles, sticks to her core values, protects her family, fights the good fight and gets reviled. She should be an object lesson to anyone who puts themselves in the public eye. If you don't have to do anything other than breath to be attacked, you should definitely make sure you don't give your opponents anything REAL to use against you...
Sanford should have been intelligent enough to realize that those in the opposing political arena (even those in the same Party) look for weakness. They look for flaws. He had people gunning for him the moment he ran for office... more when his name came up as a potential Presidential candidate... and even more as soon as he said no to bailout monies...
Sanford's betrayal goes way beyond the devastation of his family life, his political career and the people of South Carolina. He gave the "other" side something to hang their attack hat on and hurt every Conservative who sticks to their guns, who's strong enough to stand on their values even when it costs them personally. He gave all of those who oppose Conservative values and principals mud to throw at ALL Conservatives.
We expect more of those we put into office. We know they're human, we know they make mistakes, but during these critical times when the Republican Party and Conservatives in all parties have enough to deal with, we need those in elected office to stand taller and to stand stronger.
Sanford deserves the censure of the South Carolina GOP. He deserves our censure. Asking for, and recieving, forgiveness doesn't mean there shouldn't be consequences.

Massachusetts Seeks to Force Federal Taxpayers to Subsidize Same-Sex 'Marriage'
Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins released the following statement in response to a lawsuit filed today by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley challenging the constitutionality of the federal definition of marriage established by Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). In 1996 DOMA was passed overwhelmingly in the House (342-67) and Senate (85-14) and then was quickly signed into law by President Bill Clinton.
"In 1996, the Defense of Marriage Act was enacted with the primary purpose of protecting the right of states to define marriage as they see fit so that no state can force marriage redefinition on another state. Now, the Massachusetts Attorney General is expanding the fight against traditional marriage by demanding that federal taxpayers from all 50 states subsidize same-sex 'marriage' benefits in Massachusetts.
"American taxpayers should hold onto their wallets. Should this lawsuit succeed and President Obama's health care reform pass without an explicit ban on tax funded abortions - taxpayers face the very real possibility of being forced to subsidize both same-sex 'marriages' and abortion coverage within a universal health care plan.
"Recognizing the ongoing threat to marriage, voters in the last election continued to define marriage in their state constitutions as the union of one man and one woman. We advise the U.S. Justice Department to fulfill its constitutional duties and continue its defense of DOMA against such frivolous lawsuits. We also urge any federal courts that hear this case to dismiss it and preserve the right of the people to decide such important public policy decisions."

Sarah Palin Press Coverage
I just spent a bit of time reading through various media stories about Sarah Palin's resignation. It's amazing how many fill their story with comments from Democratic opponents and Sarah haters. It's also amazing how many recite the list of reasons she mentioned for stepping down but leave out the cost to Alaska tax-payers, how much time she's spending fighting irresponsible attacks, how much time her staff is focusing on things other than doing their job for Alaska...
One story I read included a section about a July 4th parade where they had asked Gov. Palin to participate in the parade. She didn't say she would but they "held out hope", "made signs", etc. They quoted the people as hoping she'd show up and ended with a sentence from an organizer saying she was giving up because what Governor would want to be at the back of the parade with clowns, etc.? Geez. Ya know, I was hoping that Governor Palin would come to our family barbecue, too. Why didn't they interview me? They make up stuff when they can't come up with something new.
It's a wicked-wicked press out there slanting, twisting and maligning Sarah Palin and pretty much anything 'not Obama'.
Is it any wonder so many people are turning to Fox News???
I'm going to go walk on the treadmill and burn off some steam.
