FRC: Urge "NO" Vote on Pro-Abortion Governor; Me: Magnify Your Efforts

The following is from the Family Research Council. You all know that Obama has filled his Cabinet with people with ethical challenges. They fly through without any major challenges. It seems that we are fighting against the wind as we write, call, fax our opposition to the many actions by Obama, Pelosi, Reid and friends.

I have a suggestion. Rather than JUST sending petitions to Washington D.C. and contacting our elected representatives, let's also contact every media outlet we can imagine. Not just this time, but every time you have a concern.

If you call your Senator, call the local news stations, too. If you write your Congressman, write every media outlet you can find (radio, television, newspaper, etc.). Duplicate everything you do ten-fold.

They're saying the opposition isn't there. They're ignoring our pleas for ethical representation. They're treating us like pesky flies that can be swatted away. Let's show them.

Magnify everything you do.

Get the addresses for every media outlet you can find and make sure you copy them when you send your letters. Get the email addresses of every national and local news outlet you can dig up and copy them on every email you send in protest.

Let's overwhelm them. Let's make it impossible for them to ignore us or swat us away.

Here's the email on Sebelius. We need to do everything possible to stop her from being confirmed. Time is short.

Time is running out to stop the confirmation of Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to be President Obama's Secretary of Heath and Human Service. A floor vote in the U.S. Senate is imminent and your signature is urgently needed on our petition to block this nominee. Gov. Sebelius has compiled a record that is anti-woman and anti-life, yet President Obama has chosen her not only to lead the federal government's largest agency but to oversee a massive expansion of the government's role in health care.

Troubling news about Gov. Sebelius continues to pour in. Her close alliance with Kansas's abortion industry has been known, but the extent of her ties, as now revealed, suggest that she may owe her entire political career to the huge sums this industry spent on and gave to her campaigns for public office. In particular, the notorious George Tiller, who has established his Wichita, Kansas facility as a national hub for second- and third-trimester abortions, helped launch Gov. Sebelius by:

Donation $200,000 in abortion proceeds to his own political action committee in Kansas in 2002, making it the largest PAC in the state and a primary supporter of Sebelius's.

Raising $70,000 from other Kansas abortionists for this fund to support Sebelius.

Donating more than $23,000 directly to Sebelius's own campaign committee, after which, as governor, she vetoed legislation that would have guaranteed minimum health standards to protect women in the state's abortion mills.

This record underscores how beholden Sebelius is to the ugliest business in America. It renders her unfit for any office, but particularly to lead the agency charged with protecting our families' health.

Please click here to watch the video I've made about the Tiller-Sebelius pipeline and to sign our petition to Senate leaders. We have no time to lose to prevent one of the worst Cabinet choices in U.S. history.

Thank you and God bless you.

Watch the video on the Tiller-Sebelius pipeline and sign our petition urging Senate leaders to reject the nomination of pro-abortion Gov. Sebelius.

Sincerely,
Tony Perkins

Presidential Hokey Pokey

While I was scouring through all the photos peolpe sent me yesterday to put Shanking Hands with Short People together, I came across some really funny shots... today I had to do make this quick little shorty:

Short video... short people... shaking hands... with "the One"

Not that I had any spare time... but couldn't resist.

Obama reaching down to shake hands vs bowing to Saudi king

Here's Obama at a campaign stop reaching down to shake hands with someone.

Here's Obama reaching to shake the Saudi king's hand, bow baby, bow:

Can you tell I'm aggravated by the way the White House thinks we're idiots out here in voter land? Why do they bother to lie about something so obvious? Oh, never mind, I know all the reason. That was a rhetorical question.

Video of Obama BOWING to the Saudi King

You'll note that there are other tall people shaking hands with shorter people on this video. Somehow they manage to do so without bowing... Then in walks Obama, BOWS to the King and then shakes his hand. The only way a person would have to BOW to shake someone's hand would be if they were 3 feet tall. Uh, isn't the Queen of England shorter than the Saudi king? Gee, I didn't see Obama bowing down to grab her hands.

Does the White House think in this day of illumination via the Internet that the American public is stupid enough to believe their revisionist accounting of the BOW???? Oh, wait, I forgot. There are still people out there who admit they voted for him, who still thinks he walks on water, who will discount every bit of proof simply because "The One" says it ain't so.

Day of Silence Walkout April 17th

The Day of Silence, which is sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), fast approaches. This year it will take place in most public schools on April 17. On this day, thousands of public high schools and increasing numbers of middle schools will allow students to remain silent throughout an entire day-even during instructional time-to promote GLSEN's socio-political goals and its controversial, unproven, and destructive theories on the nature and morality of homosexuality.

Parents must actively oppose this hijacking of the classroom for political purposes. Please join the national effort to restore to public education a proper understanding of the role of government-subsidized schools. You can help de-politicize the learning environment by calling your child out of school if your child's school allows students to remain silent during instructional time on the Day of Silence.

Parents should no longer passively countenance the political usurpation of public school classrooms through student silence.

If students will be permitted to remain silent, parents can express their opposition most effectively by calling their children out of school on the Day of Silence and sending letters of explanation to their administrators, their children’s teachers, and all school board members. One reason this is effective is that most school districts lose money for each student absence.

School administrators err when they allow the classroom to be disrupted and politicized by granting students permission to remain silent throughout an entire day.

Visit this website for complete information on opposing the Day of Silence.

Take Action!
1. Call your local schools and ask whether they permit students or teachers to remain silent in the classroom on “Day of Silence.” IMPORTANT: Do not ask any administrator, school board member, or teacher if the school sponsors, endorses, or supports DOS. Schools do not technically sponsor the Day of Silence. Technically, it is students, often students in the gay-straight alliance, who sponsor it. Many administrators will tell you that they do not sponsor the DOS when, in fact, they do permit students and sometimes even teachers to remain silent during instructional time. Also ask administrators whether they permit teachers to create lesson plans to accommodate student silence.

2. Find out what date the event is planned for your school. (The national date in 2009 is April 17, but some schools observe DOS on a different date).

3. Inform the school of your intention to keep your children home on that date and explain why. (A sample letter is available.)

What did you take away from Obama's 10-day trip?

After listening to Obama's speech this morning in Turkey on the last leg of his ten day trip, I started mulling over all the bits and pieces of speeches, news stories and commentary I've heard these past few days. I have been highly unsettled by the snippets of change that have permeated his first trip abroad.

Here's my overall impression of Obama's tour:

We're screwed.

I should probably stop there, but you know I can't, I have to explain just a little.

Obama is working hard to make America just like every other nation in the world. He's like one of those guys who wants to be liked and loved at any cost. He seems to think that by denigrating our country we'll be loved. No, we'll be weak. We'll be stepped upon.

Doesn't he understand human nature? All a patsy is good for is to run errands and get kicked around by the big bullies. America has always had a big heart and we give because we choose to give, because we care. We want to elevate others who don't have as much, who need a hand up in support. Obama is ignoring all that is good about our country and setting us up to be the patsy.

Can anyone point to anything good that will come from standing down with our nuclear weapons at a time when North Korea is stepping up their efforts to help Iran?

Who can share anything good that the United Nations has done for the world? the United States? If the United Nations had followed through with the sanctions and stood up to terrorism, this world would be well on the way to being a more peaceful entity.

I could go on and on with examples of what I perceive to be huge blunders Obama is making in dealing with our allies and adversaries. I believe if he truly loved and understood our country he would not be able to make the statements and choices he's making.

After ten days on the road Obama has made me feel more vulnerable. We're on shaky grounds in our country as a result of the choices he and his Congressional allies have made. Now we're on even shakier ground in the area of security. Bullies don't reach out and hug the one who exposes their weakness, they take advantage of it.

The damage that Obama has just done won't immediately be apparent. Right now I think the nations of the world are publicly sucking up to the Big O and playing to his vanity. Behind his back they're snickering.

History is being written.

History books of the future will write about this moment in America. The big question is what will be written?

It appears that we're headed for this version:
In year 1 OLO miraculous changes were manifested which resulted in the glorious brotherhood we enjoy throughout the world today. Personal rights were proven to be destructive and now we all share in magnificent collective goals to the betterment of our nature. Everyone has a home, food, healthcare and works in the field that best serves our world. All hail The One in this 10th year of Our Lord Obama.

Of course, we could see this:
In 2009 the soul of America was tested. The core principles upon which our country was built were assailed by those wanting to move the country to a socialistic style of government. Due to the valiant efforts of many groups and the final awakening of the true American spirit, those attacking the Constitution were silenced.

I'm hoping for the second scenario. If the first comes true, it ain't gonna be as pretty as the government controlled history books and media will portray.

It is impossible, completely impossible, to thwart or squelch our basic human drives to the point where we'll work simply to give it away to those who won't lift a finger for themselves. We want to see the fruits of our labor. We are competitive by nature and nothing the government does is going to change our basic nature.

If you take away our ability to work toward goals that improve our existence, our souls wilt and die. We give because we want to give, not because we're forced to give.

In a perfect world, minus any corruption, mental illness, psychological quirks, insecurities, greed and power hungry individuals, socialism might work. Actually, if you think about it, you may find that your vision of Heaven is somewhat socialistic. Big difference being that all those nasty quirks of human nature I mentioned won't exist in Heaven.

In socialistic cultures there are still the haves and have nots. Does anyone really believe the Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid or Barack Obama types will live in same housing most of us will be relegated to in the future world? Will they get exactly the same treatment? Will they be on the same list we're on as we wait for medical care?

All those who believe in the world Obama is painting are being deceived.

What happens when people like me stop working? When we're taxed, penalized, tromped on long enough there won't be any incentive to produce. When the government steps in to take the fruits of my labor, what reason will I have to work? Why shouldn't everyone's hand be out equally? What makes the leech better than the person who strives to improve their life through hard work or innovation?

Those who are now paying the tab and providing jobs for the majority are being punished. They are being made the scapegoats to further Obama's long-term goal. He's firing up the masses and they're following along believing someday they too, will eat caviar and drink champagne.

Obama is in the process of re-ordering society. It may seem to work on paper, but the reality is that there will always be those who scramble to be at the top of any society. In the world he seems to be creating, there will still be a "higher" class. It will be made up of those who are able to "work the system". Ultimately, there will be the government class and then the rest of us, the masses who will all be equally miserable.

Watching all the happenings at the G20 Summit and in Washington I believe more and more that our country is slipping away. Many, possibly the majority, are continuing to live their lives as though nothing is going to change. I think it's part of our nature, too, in this country at least, to believe that things will always work out. We believe that we'll make things better, find a way past any adversity.

I'm afraid that may not be so if more of us don't wake up, stand up and speak up.

Despite the gloom and doom I just spewed, I am clinging to my hope, my guns, my religion and my belief in America. I do believe we have the ability to overcome all that is being thrown at us. I am counting on America to wake up as more and more seem to be doing.

FRC Defends Tony Dungy's Selection To Obama's Faith-Based Council

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins released the following statement in response to President Obama's invitation to Tony Dungy, former coach of the Indianapolis Colts, to join the President's Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

"I was pleased to hear that Tony Dungy, coach of the Indianapolis Colts, has been asked to serve on the President's Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. I may not be a sports buff, but I've always been a fan of men of character. Tony Dungy has been that for me and for countless Americans who admire him - not just for his victories on the field but in life. He has used his celebrity platform to promote adoption, prison ministry, family values, outreach to the poor, and simple Christian decency.

"If Coach Dungy chooses to accept this role, let's hope President Obama will be open to the counsel he offers on behalf of millions of other Bible-believing Christians. We hope the Faith Council will work to channel pro-family policies - rather than simply being used by the President as a tool to make political inroads with the Christian community.

"I encourage him to consider serving in this role. Opponents of traditional marriage are seeking to disqualify Coach Dungy simply for believing that marriage is the union of one man and one woman which is a view shared by more than 80 percent of American Evangelicals. Their desire to exclude Tony Dungy from the Faith Council, based upon his religious convictions, provides further evidence of an effort to silence the Church. However, the Faith Council can only be truly reflective of the faith community by including such Christian leaders as Tony Dungy."
