NetRight Nation on HR 1388 and S 277 (G.I.V.E. Act)

This week, the Democrats in the Senate and House introduced a devastating new bill – the so-called Generations Invigorating Volunteers and Education Act (S.277) – that would allow politicians to funnel billions of tax dollars to leftwing organizations that they could then use for political purposes. As a blogger, you are the front line for exposing what legislation does.

It's being done under the guise of enabling Barack Obama to build his $5 billion, 250,000-member “volunteer” youth corps – “just as powerful, just as strong” as the U.S. military, as he promised during his campaign. You may remember that chilling speech in Colorado Springs:

"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

If the so-called GIVE Act is passed in its present form, groups like ACORN and Jessie Jackson's PUSH will receive multi-million-dollar grants for lobbying, community organizing, protests, strikes – and just about any other activity they believe would further their hard left agenda. And that would mean your tax dollars would be used to pass legislation and elect politicians you absolutely oppose!

Fortunately, Sen. Jim DeMint has introduced a vital amendment to GIVE that would prohibit “advocacy” groups or groups co-located with advocacy groups from receiving any assistance under the Act. The DeMint Amendment would automatically prohibit any organization “engaged in legislative advocacy” – or working hand in hand with such organizations -- from receiving assistance under the GIVE Act. And that, of course, is exactly how it should be.

Leftwing groups and blogs are flooding the Senate with angry demands that the DeMint Amendment be defeated. They know it could cost them hundreds of millions of your tax dollars – and prevent them from using your money to disrupt our entire political system.

That's why I am asking you to join me in matching them call for call. We must fight them on the blogosphere as well. You have the power to expose this bill for what it is—a shame! Time is of the essence. The DeMint Amendment prohibiting advocacy organizations from receiving assistance under the GIVE Act could come up for a vote at any moment. We still have time to keep this language in the bill. But, we must act now!

Just passing this one along 'cause it's interesting. Maybe it's an issue that should be important to me, but it's not. I am burning up the wires doing everything I can to halt the porkulus package from going through.

ALIPAC - Rule of Law: Obama Must Deport His Aunt

The national organization, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, is filing an arrest request with Immigration and Customs Enforcement today and issuing a public demand for President Obama to honor his rhetoric about the Rule of Law by deporting his aunt Zeituni Onyango.

Zeituni Onyango is an illegal immigrant, who is currently under a court's order to leave the country or be deported, and has been living in taxpayer subsidized housing in Boston for five years. She is currently a fugitive from justice and is staying with friends in Clevelend vowing to fight against being deported now that her nephew is President.

"President Obama has promised the American public that his administration will honor the principles of open government, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Obama must either deport his aunt or destroy his own credibility by showing her favoritism."

Americans were shocked by recent revelations that President George Bush issued a secretive executive order prior to the elections requiring Homeland Security to clear all immigration arrests with the White House beforehand to assure that Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango did not become a political issue during the campaigns.

Obama recently repeated his claims of support for the intrinsic American principle of the Rule of Law. On January 21, 2009 he stated on CNN and other national networks, "Let me say this as simply as I can. Transparency and the Rule of Law will be the touchstones of this Presidency."

The Rule of Law is a principle considered to be a core concept of what America stands for. The 'rule of law', in its most basic form, is the principle that no one is above the law. Thomas Paine stated in his pamphlet Common Sense (1776): "For as in absolute governments the king is law, so in free countries the law ought to be king; and there ought to be no other."

The principle is intended to be a safeguard against arbitrary governance, whether by a totalitarian leader or by mob rule. Thus, the rule of law is hostile both to dictatorship and to anarchy.

"Actions speak louder than words, Mr. President," said William Gheen. "If you do not execute the deportation order for your aunt, then your lip service about the Rule of Law is no CHANGE from George Bush."

ALIPAC supporters are being asked to contact talk radio shows, the White House, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to demand that the principle of the Rule of Law is restored in America, and that Zeituni Onyango leave the United States America or face deportation by months end.

Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live?

I don't think so, but there was some speculation on Fox News & Friends this morning CLEARLY stated as speculation. Seems the Secret Service have been checking out the floor where Saturday Night Live is shot, which is something they do before one of the candidates appears.

I think it's going to be Barack Obama. He postponed his appearance before due to the hurricane.

He won't postpone the debates due to a financial hurricane and doesn't want the topic changed. National security and related? Who care right now when most of us are thinking about our stocks, 401K's. retirement and our future financial well-being?

I don't want Sarah on SNL after how they were so nasty to her husband and children with the incest skit. Unless the reason she's on there is so the entire cast can walk up front and APOLOGIZE profusely.

Now, if Barack goes on there during this financial crisis it'll show what he's really thinking about (which we already know), and that is numero uno, Barack Obama.

We have a financial crisis and he's having $30,000 a ticket fund raisers. We're wondering where our next dollar is coming from to pay for gas and he's flying a plane back and forth to debates. How much gas is THAT going to take? Why aren't the environmental types out protesting?

The Left is trying to spread the idea around that John McCain is scared to debate Obama. Sure guys, show your intelligence on that one! John McCain is the one who wanted around 10 town hall meetings with Barack Obama and your guy is the one who turned them all down, couldn't handle talking to John McCain and a group of people at the same time. Gee, isn't that multi-tasking? What is so scary about talking to the American People and answering their questions?

Which has me thinking about Barack Obama's talks to the public. Has he done any talks where he answered questions from the "regular" people or just from the press? Every talk I've seen has him standing behind a teleprompter.
