Don't forget S. 510, Food Safety Modernization Act. This includes registration of everyone producing food of any amount. The version the House passed includes farmers markets, CSA's and road side stands.
How better to ration food to friends, and cut off dissidents, than to control the food supply?
Or encourage vegetarian diets by closing down meat processors. What better way to address methane from cows, than to destroy the beef and milk markets? Remember - Obama appointees include those that advocate de-populating the US, down to about 1/3 as many inhabitants.
If the bill is actually implemented as it is written, instead, it will drive many small food suppliers out of business and raise everyone's food bill. What S.510 doesn't address is the cause of the national outbreaks - existing laws not being enforced.
Many people react badly to universal firearm or firearm owner registration. But what does it mean when everyone producing food, or components for food, for people or animals, to be registered? Registered, and federally inspected, regulated, and "safe" procedures mandated. Monsanto helped draft the legislation; organic processes are unlikely to be represented.
