Atheists' National Holiday?

By Chuck Norris

Atheists from England to the West Coast of America are stepping up their efforts this year to make a bigger antagonistic splash on the Christmas scene. From London and Washington, D.C., buses to Colorado billboards, skeptics are skewering religions with little respect to the adherents of the religions.

At the forefront is a group's government-sanctioned posting of a sign by a Nativity scene in the Capitol of Washington state (and now also in Wisconsin and Illinois): "At this season of THE WINTER SOLSTICE may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."

I am a patriot, and I believe that atheists are free to believe, speak and post whatever they want. This is America, and that's their First Amendment right. But to do so with harassment and hatred under the guise of free speech is despicable. An anti-religious poster filled with spite is in no way equal to a religious symbol, such as a Nativity scene. Where are the political correctness police when religious followers are the victims?

If such words were written against any social minority group, protests would be ubiquitous. But anti-religious bigotry is in vogue these days. Still, there is absolutely no justification for these atheists' written revile. And if they want to keep using hate-filled language against theists -- particularly Christians -- then they shouldn't be surprised when they meet up with a yuletide (written) roundhouse kick.

The future... if we're not vigilant???

This is supposed to be funny, but it's a reality that skims to close to possibilities for many! I hope that the fact that Obama is choosing the same-old-same-old political insiders for his Cabinet means that the change he promised was nothing but the empty rhetoric that we hear from politicians day after day... Then again, he could just be trying to lull us into complacency. Only time will tell what the future holds for us. I know I'm going to fight to keep our country free.

Talking about God, Character and Judgement

Back in April of this year Barack Obama was "outed" for saying "And it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

In comment after comment he raises questions in the minds of many regarding his stated commitment to the Christian faith. I have no idea what is in his heart or whether he is a Christian as he claims, or a closet Muslim as some contend.

Recently the question of "using" the Reverend Jeremiah Wright's nasty version of religion has again come up. I for one think it's valid to bring up the subject. Obama chose to go to that church for twenty years. Whether he did it for political reasons as some assert or whether he simply liked what he heard Sunday after Sunday matters not to me. Either way he made a bad choice and it speaks to his judgement.

Add up all the questionable characters he's chosen to pal around with and I have huge doubts about his judgement and his foundation. How do you judge the people you meet? Often it's based on who they choose for friends along with many other factors.

You won't let your children hang out with kids who act out, who get into trouble, who have certain tendencies or problems. Life is all about choices and judgements. If Obama was blind to Rev. Wright's nature after hanging out with him, being mentored by him for that length of time, how easy will it be for the wrong element to pull the wool over his eyes?

It says a lot about a person's character if they're willing to overlook the elephant in the room along with the person who owns the elephant. Barack Obama has a herd of elephants hanging out in his room and half the nation is willing to ignore them. I suppose using an elephant in the room analogy isn't the best given what it symbolizes politically! Pretend it's a room full of donkeys. Hard to ignore either animal yet there are a lot of people who are doing just that, and doing it happily.

An American Carol beats Bill Maher's Christian Bashing Movie! YES!

My husband is watching Bill O'Reilly in the other room --- I just heard him say "An American Carol" beats Bill Maher's movie (Religulous). I am SO happy with that outcome.

Bill Maher is just mean and nasty. He's the little boy that got picked on when he was a kid who grew up to be a bully and everything he probably hated when he was growing up.

More on NBC - try a Google Search on "Boycott NBC"

If we could get all these groups together we might actually get somewhere with a boycott of NBC! The posts below aren't even the tip of the iceberg! One thing I found interesting is that a boycott was proposed a while back because of an incest joke about Michael Jackson... No comments from the peanut gallery please. Newt called for a boycott a while back also. I say quite a bit of discussion about it but obviously it didn't get too far. I guess too many love their television programs more than they love their principles.

Boycott NBC: Not by coincidence, the network bashing Christianity
By Michael Gaynor
NBC contemptuously and contemptibly chooses to bash Christianity and to ridicule Christian beliefs and values for profit and fun. It is a network that good people of all faiths should shun, unless and until it really repents what it has done and swears to refrain from doing it again. In "The Lord's Prayer," Jesus said, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Like some noxious NBC programming. NBC, the acronym for National Broadcasting Company, is determined to mock Christianity. So boycott NBC as long as it remains the Network Bashing Christianity!

Boycott NBC?
December 07, 2007 07:07 PM EST views: 199 There is no question that NBC is one of the most liberal broadcast networks around. Over on MSNBC, they have Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann. They have given, not sold but given, Al Gore more than 35 hours of time to peddle his global warming propaganda with no such allowance for the other side.

Boycott NBC and Its Affiliates!
I’m not quick to call for a boycott but this situation certainly calls for one.
NBC has decided to not air advertising this Christmas season because it is too controversial. The controversy - skimpy Victoria’s Secret ads? PETA animal rights ads? Anti-abortion ads? No. The controversy is thanking our American troops for protecting our security and freedoms.

Gillespie: ‘It Is Beyond Me’ Why Republicans Won’t Boycott NBC»
Yesterday, Bush counselor Ed Gillespie sent an angry letter to NBC president Steve Capus demanding that the network run a correction for what he called the network’s “selective editing” of an interview with President Bush. NBC pointed out that the full interview “has been available, unedited, in its entirety, for the past day, on our website.”
Gillespie — and the rest of the right wing — was not mollified. Appearing on Glenn Beck’s radio show today, Gillespie continued to attack NBC. When Beck asked why conservatives continue to appear on the network, Gillespie replied, “It is beyond me frankly”:

To: NBC
By now, we have all heard about the charges that were brought against Michael Jackson years ago, which were then dropped by the people who filed charges against him. NBC, however, felt the need to re-try Michael and find him guilty and depict him as a child molestor in November 10th's episode of Saturday Night Live. If you were unfortunate to see this episode, you were more than likely as disgusted and upset as the signers of this petition were. One can only think that NBC did this in an effort to hurt Michael's career.

Boycott NBC
The recent decision by NBC news to broadcast portions of the video provided them by Cho Seung-Hui, the mass murderer behind the killing of 32 innocent students and teachers at Virginia Tech University is deplorable. The airing of his self-promoting propaganda only serves to disrespect the victims, further victimizes their families and endangers the community at large.

Newt calls for NBC boycott, why bother?
December 7, 2007 · Print This Article
Today on FoxNews Newt Gingrich called for a boycott of NBC because of its refusal to allow a paid ad by Freedoms Watch that calls for supporting the troops. While I applaud the former speaker I have to ask, who watches NBC now?
I would stop watching NBC but I had already done so. I will admit I tuned in to NBC for Sunday Night Football the first week of the season but when they had Keith Olbermann on the halftime show I turned it off and haven’t watched since. Asking people to boycott watching NBC is like asking people to boycott jumping off cliffs. You can’t stop doing what you don’t do now.
