While Obama may be the driving force behind the current attempts of government to take over our health system, he's not my biggest concern. Yes, I believe he is trying to take our democracy down the path to socialism, whether you want to call it socialism, nationalization or "doing what's best for Americans". I certainly believe he and the Democratic Congress are blurring the path between free enterprise and government, interfering and stabbing democracy in the front (and the back).
However, like and trust Obama and his plans or not, the biggest problem with government involvement in health care and other aspects of our lives isn't what's going to happen during Obama's administration. The biggest changes are going to happen down the road, post-Obama ("assuming" he doesn't figure out some way to turn us into a Chavez nation where term limits and true-free voting don't exist).
Once the government gets their mitts into our health care it becomes another power base for Washington DC bureaucrats. It becomes another place for government workers to protect their jobs and coast to retirement. It becomes a place where mini-despots act out their desires to rule and be superior to someone, anyone, but mainly those who come begging for a health procedure. It becomes anything BUT good.
Even if you're an Obama-lover, can you really expect the next batch of government types to live up to the lofty ideals being advertised by current proponents? You have to know oh skeptical ones, that those touting the "change" are often doing so for personal reasons, for personal or capitalistic gain? We've already head the leaks of power deals being made between drug companies and the Obama administration.... what haven't we heard about?
Why do people think the top echelon of AARP and the AMA are quasi-signing on while the larger part of their base is opposing the move? Come on, we know this is just another power shift. Deals are being made as I type... Although, those who are making deals to keep their power and dollars should look at history and know that the kind of promises made during power shifts are often not worth the time it took to shake hands. It's a "whatever we need to do now" mentality that rules during huge governmental change, then, when the changes happen those that helped are next in the steamroller's path.
Welfare started out as something the government, notably President Roosevelt, did to "help" during and after the Great Depression. During that period of time Social Security and unemployment compensation came into being. Those changes created generations of people completely dependent upon the government. Can anyone really say that was a good thing? Sure, it was good temporarily for those who'd hit rock bottom and those who were headed in that direction. But if they government hadn't stepped in to redistribute wealth, would we have survived? would we have been a stronger country?
What if, instead of giving hand outs to individuals, the government had given loans to businesses so people could work, have jobs, be self-sufficient? What if they had made the hand-outs temporary while creating jobs, then stopped the programs (which I believe was the original intention)? What if... there are a lot of what ifs...
Now we're in a temporary downturn and people are hurting. We'll get through it. We would have gotten through it without the 'stimulus' redistribution of our tax-dollars by Congress. Like-wise, we can also make changes in how health care is handled without having government take over any portion of the process.
Government health care will become another boondoggle program that curtails self-dependence. If the government, if Congress, is successful and mucks this one up, we will become a true nation of government-dependent weenies. We are close to going over the line from true democracy to some form of socialism, whether you want to use that label or not. Government-run or government-involved health care will be the proverbial straw that breaks American democracy's back.
Today I heard the government is digging deeper into private business, wanting the salaries and compensation info from insurance companies. Why? So they can continue their demonization and take over of private enterprise. It's a slippery, slippery slope we're on right now. Who figures out where to draw the line?
Even if you believe Obama and friends are right, that the government should offer a public option, do you trust future governmental types to run it efficiently and honestly?
The point being, you don't KNOW who's going to be making future decisions. All we really know is that once the government gets involved we have Welfare, the IRS, the Post Office, and our Medicare and Medicaid programs which are riddled with abuse and waste. No matter how good Obama and others make it sound, no matter how they vilify the current system, it's not going to be better when the government takes over. These will become the good old days for those of us who live through the transition. The next generations will only know government run health care, just like so many now only know Welfare. Scary.

Government limits for athlete's and movie star's pay?
A new Rasmussen survey shows that 30% of Americans believe the government, yes, the government, should get involved in limiting the pay of athletes and movie stars.
While the pay may be astronomically ridiculous, I believe it's not just ridiculous that anyone would want the government to cap their pay, it's downright scary.
Can these people not see beyond the end of their jealous noses? Does any sane person think that having the government step into any aspect of private industry pay is a good thing?
I suppose that's a silly question. A huge number of people want the government to take back the AIG bonuses. Many want the government to stick their grubby fingers into the pockets of "fat cats" on Wall Street. Loads of people who should be mad at the government are being led by the nose to vent their ire at hardworking people.
I am so frustrated and angry with all those who are buying into Obama-tactics. Don't you think they WANT us to be mad at Wall Street? at AIG? at all those who make more money than we do? Don't you understand that we are playing right into their hands when we succumb to class envy?
The more we hate capitalists, the easier it is for them to further their quasi-socialistic (or fully socialistic) style of government.
While we're distracted with misplaced anger, they're sliding bill after bill through Congress that dramatically changes our country.
We're where we are in this country right now not simply because of "greed" as they'd like us to believe. We are here because the government mucked it up. We are here because many of us have been asleep, lulled by good times into focusing on our daily lives while ignoring what has been happening in Washington, in local government, and to the moral fiber of our country.
Remember the oft-repeated saying about how they came for this group but I wasn't a member of it so I did nothing? We are running out of groups for the government to come after. There is almost nothing left between you and big brother right now.
We all know the government doesn't know how to put out a camp fire without burning down a forest. Every time they start a program or get involved in regulating private industry it turns into a fiasco. No one in their right mind should be able to condone having the government tell any free market agency, any free individual, how much money they should make. Or how they should run their business or life.
I was appalled when I heard the stats from Senator Jim DeMint (video) saying over 50% of the American population was dependent on the government in some form or manner. 20% work for the government, 20% get social security and are on Medicare (or Medicaid, always get those two mixed up), and the remainder are on the dole with Welfare or some other similar program.
It's not surprising given those numbers that so many want more government involvement. But it is so sad. We are fast, fast, fast, becoming a nation made up of people with their hands held out for manna from the almighty government.
We have to find a way to turn this country around now. Maybe it is time for an Ayn Rand style Atlas Shrugged revolt. Maybe all the producers need to pack their bags and move to the hills. Let's all retire, then see who pays the bills for all the moochers.
You know, much as I'd like to do something like that at times, I can't. Call me Dagny Taggart if you'd like, but I'll fight until I'm forced to stop.
30% Say Government Should Limit Pay for Athletes and Movie Stars
While a great deal of public anger is focused at corporate executives these days, Johnny Depp and the Boys of Summer don't fare much better. Thirty percent (30%) of Americans believe the government should make it illegal to pay movie stars and athletes more than $1 million per year.

If it weren't for the rest of the stuff, I'd be laughing
Most Democrats, many Independents, and even a few Republicans flocked to Obama because he promised "Change" with a capital C. War on terror? Gone. Excess spending? Gone. Huge government, excesses? Gone. Earmarks? Gone. The schism between the two Parties? Gone.
Everyone from the media to the mindless masses swallowed his lines and gulped the kool-aide.
Now we're living with the reality of Obamavision.
War? Shift the troops to Afghanistan and pull 'em back from Iraq. When are the troops coming home? Roughly the same time President Bush said they'd be coming home and a bit further out than Obama originally promised.
Excess spending? Without the stimulus-porkulus-scamulus package Obama's budget still, especially coupled with the $410 billion Omnibus package and all the other bits he's doling out, makes Bush look like Ebenezer Scrooge.
Cutting back on government? Hold on, I am having to laugh at this one... picture busy little bees building glorious hives, ever expanding hives, bzzzzz, bzzzz... except the end result sure isn't going to be sweet. Maybe a better analogy would have been the killer ants that sweep through areas decimating them.
Earmarks? He stood strong on that one for all of about ten seconds didn't he? Have you ever heard such a lame excuse as the one he is using to justify the signing of the killer Omnibus (if it gets through, when it gets through). He's not going to veto the bill that President Bush said he'd veto because it was something that got started during the "I'll veto it" Bush administration. Wouldn't it make a bit more sense to say, well, President Bush wouldn't approve it during his administration, and I don't believe in earmarks, so I will veto it unless you strip the earmarks?
I wish every Republican who had an earmark in the Omnibus would stand up and ask to have it dropped from the bill. Wouldn't that say something? It would also take "true grit" and we know that's something many of our Republicans haven't got. Yet.
Kumbaya, love and happiness between the Republicans and Democrats? Sure, Obama said he was a miracle worker. Then he starts pumping out advanced socialism (as opposed to socialism 101), starts printing money like it's not real, raids the kids piggy banks for generations to come, ignores the Republicans, goes on a rampage to reverse every good thing President Bush and / or the Republicans ever did and then invites everyone to share a group hug. Kind of hard to hug someone who's slapping and kicking you.
So now Obama is channeling Cheney in regards to wire-tapping according to the Wall Street Journal. Anyone surprised?
You know, if he weren't destroying the country with all his actions, I'd be laughing at the fools who voted for this man. I'd be saying "I told you so." You wanted change? However, while he may not be keeping those campaign promises that drew the crowds, he's making other changes that are bad-news serious. Seems he's managing to alienate people on both sides of the aisle. An equal opportunity destructo machine.
Based on the poll numbers it appears that many are still in la-la land when it comes to seeing the reality of what's going on. Obama is out there campaigning and selling his wares just as successfully it seems. I pray our fellow citizens wake up before his actions take us too far over the brink.
Obama Channels Cheney
The Obama Administration this week released its predecessor's post-9/11 legal memoranda in the name of "transparency," producing another round of feel-good Bush criticism. Anyone interested in President Obama's actual executive-power policies, however, should look at his position on warrantless wiretapping. Dick Cheney must be smiling.
In a federal lawsuit, the Obama legal team is arguing that judges lack the authority to enforce their own rulings in classified matters of national security. The standoff concerns the Oregon chapter of the Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation, a Saudi Arabian charity that was shut down in 2004 on evidence that it was financing al Qaeda. Al-Haramain sued the Bush Administration in 2005, claiming it had been illegally wiretapped.

Keep calling, keep writing! Don't stop fighting!
The stimulus (porkulus) battle is not over yet! We have to continue calling, writing and faxing. I've read that the three turncoats who stabbed their Party and the rest of us in the back didn't have a clue about all the horrific things stuck in the government growth bill. They haven't read it.
Over the next few days Pelosi, Reid and friends are going to try and add as much as they can into the bill. We need to keep the pressure on them.
Although I'm going to call and write, because I'll go down in flames rather than sitting waiting for the bus to roll over me... I don't think the Democrats give a flying flip about any of their constituents now that they, and 3 Republicans, have their stimulus package. Once this stimulus package is fully implemented, they won't need us anymore. Our votes and voices are going to be worthless. Especially if they manage to implement the Fairness Doctrine and the Employee Free Choice Act.
Americans will be on life-support and the government will be the breathing machine.
Preying on the fear of Americans who aren't really paying attention, they've tipped the balance of power and we're no longer just dipping our toe into the socialist pool, we're halfway immersed.
I didn't mean to get on a rant here... I really just meant to post this email from the www.nostimulus.com group... forgive me, I'm heart sick about what is happening to our country. I'm praying we somehow manage to band together to stop the madness.
From Americans for Prosperity:
Just minutes ago in the U.S. Senate we suffered a difficult defeat as the $838 billion senate version of the Pelosi-Reid-Obama spending bill passed with 61 votes. While today's vote is a disappointing setback we cannot afford to be discouraged. Much of this fight still lies ahead in the next few days.
The bill still must to go to conference to work out differences between the House and Senate versions. Speaker Pelosi will fight to add back as much pork as possible, including brand new big government programs not in either the House or Senate version. So, we still have several days (most likely until Friday or Saturday) to keep turning up the pressure on these congressional barons.
At the same time, due to the dedicated work of people like you and the good common sense of our fellow citizens, our movement keeps exploding!
In less than 24 hours yesterday we went from 96,000 petition signers on NoStimlus.com to 204,000 signers! That's incredible and shows the momentum we've got. Simply put: as Americans learn about this bill and hear about our effort, they respond no matter what the pundits in the media say.
You and I both know about the outrageous pork barrel spending in this bill, but there is another element of this legislation that is simply chilling. That is the provision in this legislation for your health care.
Hidden in the dark recesses of this trillion dollar spending bill are the first steps towards government run health care including:
- Government rationing of your health care especially for seniors and the chronically ill
Federal ownership and control of your medical records
- Under the bureaucratic jargon of “Comparative Effectiveness Review” the package earmarks several billion dollars for the first steps towards taking us to a Canadian or, even worse, British health care system that will lower the quality of our health care while trampling individual rights.
Betsy McCaughey points out in a stunning piece on Bloomberg News, just how far the bill goes. Her article is currently featured on Drudge.
We have three to five days to drive home this new message. I know you signed the petition on www.nostimulus.com and for that I'm so thankful.
Many of you have called your senators telling them to vote no because of the pork and waste and debt in this bill. However, the earmarks in this Pelosi/Reid/Obama bill earmarking billions for the "Comparative Effectiveness Review" (meaning government run health care) is new information for most Americans and sadly, even most Senators. So, I'm asking you to go a step further than you've gone and call and email your representatives again to drive home the health care point.
Take a moment to read the McCaughey piece on Bloomberg News by clicking here now or go to Heritage.org for more information. Then, call and email your Senators to tell them this Pelosi/Reid/Obama bill threatens your health care and that's yet another crucial reason to vote NO.
On FOX news yesterday the commentator asked me if this bill could really be defeated. I told him what I know from my own experience: Americans don't give up.
That's why I know you and I are going to keep fighting straight through.
Sincerely,Tim Phillips
President, Americans for Prosperity
P.S. Majority Leader Reid and Speaker Pelosi are aggressively pushing to have a final vote by Friday night. They know what we know -- pressure is building against their trillion dollar spending spree because of folks like you. They are watching NoStimulus.com and see that thanks to you we're well over 200,000 petition signers. They're hunkered down in their offices getting the phone calls and emails. They know time is on our side. Let's keep building the pressure to slow down this vote.

And we think they can handle really big money???
We've already watched our government fritter away billions and billions of dollars with nary a dent in this "recession". Now they want us to believe they're going to be able to deal with a trillion or more? Are they nuts? Are we nuts? We need an uprising. We need to take back our government. We gave it away thanks to millions who didn't have a clue who or what they were voting for. Now we need to get off our duffs and take it back. Come on folks, get busy or we're going to lose our country completely.
Don't let them pass this stimulus, scamulus, porkulus bill!!!!!
AIG, Citi deals gave US Treasury least value-report
By David Lawder WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (Reuters) - The U.S. Treasury Department bank bailout program received the least value from its investments in the most troubled surviving institutions -- American International Group and Citigroup, a new report from a watchdog panel showed on Friday. The Congressional Oversight Panel report said the Treasury overpaid financial institutions by about $78 billion in its capital injections last year through the Troubled Asset Relief Program. It paid $254 billion in 2008 in return for stocks and warrants worth $176 billion under the Troubled Asset Relief Program. This conclusion was first disclosed on Thursday by the panel's chairwoman, Elizabeth Warren, in U.S. Senate testimony. But the new report provided more details on the methodology and it also concluded that the U.S. government received far less value than private investors did in recent major transactions in the financial sector. The report showed that the Treasury got the worst deal on second-round investments in American International Group for $40 billion and Citigroup for $20 billion under special aid programs tailored for the two institutions. For each $100 spent on these two companies. the Treasury received securities worth $41,

Wake Up America on the Stimulus
Wake Up America movement is an all volunteer non-partisan grass roots network, as many of you know. A core team of volunteers have diligently examined the contents of the current bill before Congress - HR1. What we have learned about what's happening in Washington is no less than astonishing.
TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS NOW
Your Future may depend on it. Once you do, you may think this is all too incredible to be true. SO COME SEE IT FOR YOURSELF at WAKE UP AMERICA WEBSITE
We have posted the entire HR-1 in exclusive downloadable form for signed in Volunteers, like yourself. W.A.M. also has opened a special page on website to see specific excerpts of
THE BIGGEST SWINDLE IN HISTORY!
YOU DESERVE TO KNOW THE TRUTH - and EVERYONE you know should also BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTS:
1. HR1 opens with a positive sounding statement about its contents being only for the purposes of immediate actions to support economic recovery. THIS IS NOT SO! As a hint of some of what's to come in its SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY SEVEN pages - its introductory statement immediately switches the subject to the (very complicated) terms of the GRANT MONEY that it contains. Have you ever heard of an economy in crisis being saved by the circulation of funds being poured into GRANT MONEY?!
2. As reported on FOX news briefly, the presumed organizer of this self-destructive volume of insanity, is Rep. David Obey of Wisconsin, whose own son stands to gain millions in government investment if this measure passes. But THAT is only a drop in the bucket of pork barrel spending included in HR-1. But here is what's worse: The purpose of the bill's high volume of self-serving sub-clauses (each adding MILLIONS OF DOLLARS MORE in non-economic emergency expenditures) is for one end: to BUY THE VOTE of every Congressman required for HR-1 passage! This Obama strategy for bribing public officials is nothing new. He has used it successfully - with Axelrod's help - throughout his rapid-fire rise to power. Here is the REAL REASON for buying up Congressional votes at this critical time:
3. HR-1 is ONLY THE FIRST in a package of TEN BILLS preparing to be launched in our Congress. Together they represent the obliteration of the American way of life as we have known it. As the public knows T.A.R.P. BILLIONS came first - and is already being shown NOT TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMY. They are claiming that's because it's just "not enough." Any logical criticism of HR-1 is now also being brushed aside on the basis "We know it's not perfect but we need to do something FAST."
4. Each of these TEN PIECES OF DESTRUCTIVE and COSTLY LEGISLATION has a politically correct sounding Title. Together these form a body of nearly-irreversible SOCIALISM and their underlying intention is clear: Flood so much currency and power into the hands of Obama's supporters that the influence of his backers becomes an unstoppable political machine pursuing its own agenda - and its agenda does NOT serve We the People it is supposed to represent!
5. This currently unreported package of TEN BILLS are under the vast umbrella of the "Obama Economic Recovery Plan." The strategy is simple, really: to manipulate the emotions of the American public and orchestrate the purse strings of Congress - all FALSELY DISGUISED as necessary to improve our current plight. Notice how the Media has stopped talking about the "bail-out" and is now using the term "Stimulus Plan." When the next bill package comes up for a rapid-fire slam-dunk, they'll just call that one by a different name and so on and so on.
6. Which brings us to the most critical question: WHO IS REALLY WRITING ALL THIS LEGISLATION that will affect our families for generations to come? On January 7, 2008: The 10 Bill Package of "Obama Economic Recovery Plan" was introduced in the House of Representatives. On January 14, 2008 each of these Bills was no more than a few paragraphs in length - with appealing Titles followed by a few vague sentences. That's all there was! Yet, before January ended the OPENING PIECE OF LEGISLATION - HR1 mushroomed to 647 pages long! Ask yourself: How could Congress possibly have written much material on so many sweeping topics in just a few weeks? Then go on to the bigger question: Who in our House of Representatives actually read every page in this bill - and studied the use of the BILLIONS of Dollars being handed out throughout these pages? IT IS OBVIOUS THE HOUSE PASSED THIS BILL ONTO THE SENATE WITHOUT ACTUALLY READING IT - and quite possibly NOT having authored it in Congress itself!!!
HERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU MOST NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HR1 before it becomes the LAW OF THE LAND:
Despite Obama's statement that "less than 1%" of this bill includes costs unrelated to economic urgency, MOST HR-1 CONTENTS HAVE NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH RESOLVING THE ECONOMIC CRISES. Everyone willing to Vote It In is earmarked to get a piece of the pie for their own special interests.
These billions in pay-offs- built into HR! - are covering up subcategories within the legislation designed exclusively for Obama's self serving political ends- individually and collectively they threaten our usual rights as citizens in a free Republic. These include:
- Massive funding of ACORN, despite the fact that the organization is under indictment in at least 12 states!
- Additional funding for another Obama campaigning arm - under the guise of support for the Analog to Digital conversion
- A huge volume of surreptitious GRANT funding to be distributed for questionable purposes of an extended period of time.
- Enormous bundled funding for "technology advances" (to improve outreach of propaganda and invasions of privacy.)
- Unbelievable extravagances in the upgrades of federal buildings and vehicles completely contradictory to our emergency status.
LAST, BUT FAR FROM LEAST: over ALMOST TWO HUNDRED PAGES of new Laws & Government Expenditures to NATIONALIZE the records of all Health Care providers into ONE DATA BASE which requires every American's Health Records be accessible to ANY who have access to said DATA BASE. This measure also refers to usage of the database by the federal government for BIO-SURVEILLANCE.

What I was trying to say... but said much better!
I just posted a blog about the stimulus package and why it doesn't matter whether we like it or not.... it's going through. This article (tweet link courtesy of @ZanP) outlines very clearly why Mr. Obama and the Dems are so fired up about passing this thing.
The Truth About the Obama Agenda, Part I
By Wayne Allen Root
I have been asked by radio talk show hosts across the country to talk about President Obama’s possible – if not probable — nationalization of the banking system. But there’s more to the story than just banks.
This issue ties in with every aspect of the Obama Socialist Agenda — bailouts, handouts, economic stimulus packages, giving too much power to the Federal Reserve … and let’s not forget tax cuts to people who don’t pay taxes.
The Obama agenda isn’t about saving the American economy. Rather, it is about putting Big Brother in control of our lives. It’s about the Nanny State — big government intrusion into every aspect of our lives in order to “protect” us. It’s about destroying capitalism and tearing down the U.S. economy to build a new economic system based on rewarding the “right kind” of Americans — those who support Obama and his agenda.

Nancy Pelosi - Nationalization of Banks a Good Idea? Yep.
Nancy Pelosi was on ABC this morning with George Stephanopoulos. The entire interview was a dance and dodge performance, but even with all the flowery non-answers there were some whoppers that should have fiscally conservative, anti-socialistic, freedom loving Americans up in arms.
In this small snippet George asks Pelosi about nationalizing banks:
In this segment Pelosi explains why funding family planning services (i.e. abortion advocates, social engineering) stimulates the economy:
Did you shake your head like I shook mine? Say what? I suppose that by giving away contraceptives the government is helping to decrease the birth rate and thereby is helping the would-be mother from buying diapers, etc., etc. Ya know, that's kind of a stretch.
We are headed in a direction that we do not want to go. Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of people with their hands out. We're not willing to suffer a bit of hardship to maintain the freedoms that make us the best country ever. Ever.
We're giving our future away all so we can have multiple televisions, two or more cars in the garage and a house that's way above our means.
History is going to show that this was the time where we lost our way in America. Although, if we're heading down the path of socialism, chances are the history books of the future will reflect what the regime in power wants them to promote.
Here's the link to the full transcript: http://abcnews.go.com/ThisWeek/story?id=6725512&page=1 I watched it this morning, had to go find the transcript to see if I heard her correctly. Unfortunately, I did.

In this small snippet George asks Pelosi about nationalizing banks:
STEPHANOPOULOS: And many analysts have looked at it and said the only way to really deal with it, these banks are so close to insolvency, dealing with so many toxic assets, that the only way to deal with it fairly without giving a big boon to shareholders, is to have nationalization or partial nationalization of the banks.
Good idea?
PELOSI: Well, whatever you want to call it. There has to be - if we are going to put money into the banks we certainly want equity for the American people.
In other words, if we are strengthening them then the American people should get some of the upside of that strengthening. Some people call that nationalization. I'm not talking about total ownership but we're just saying.
Now how big that investment becomes is - would we have ever thought we would see the day when we'd be using that terminology? Nationalization of the banks.
You see the impact it has on the stock market. Just terrible in terms of the bank stocks going down. Because if you're a shareholder and you see what would be a dilution of your investment because now the federal government - if we're putting - if the taxpayer is putting money up, the taxpayer should have equity.
STEPHANOPOULOS: So it might be necessary?
PELOSI: Well, not by the terminology that you use but some increased investment. Change has to happen in terms of what is done, what the transparency of it is, what the accountability of it is. Only then would be able to pass any additional funding.
In this segment Pelosi explains why funding family planning services (i.e. abortion advocates, social engineering) stimulates the economy:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?
PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.
Ever.

Well, so much for optimism...
Okey Dokey… Obama declares implementing socialism shall be his “core” economic policy…

Wow! To think this is coming from the President of America… Oh well, it could have been worse... From CNN
“As a thought leader, Larry [Summers] has urged us to confront the problems of income inequality and the middle-class squeeze, consistently arguing that the key to a strong economy is a strong, vibrant, growing middle class,” Obama said of Summers. “This idea is at the core of my own economic philosophy and will be the foundation of all of my economic policies.”...

The future... if we're not vigilant???
This is supposed to be funny, but it's a reality that skims to close to possibilities for many! I hope that the fact that Obama is choosing the same-old-same-old political insiders for his Cabinet means that the change he promised was nothing but the empty rhetoric that we hear from politicians day after day... Then again, he could just be trying to lull us into complacency. Only time will tell what the future holds for us. I know I'm going to fight to keep our country free.

The Night Before Elections
I have no idea who wrote this, it came via email... but I just had to share:
'Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!
I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.
When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys
They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!
He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink
He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!
'On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On ACORN, On Pelosi'
He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!
"America will never be destroyed from outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." - Abraham Lincoln
