I know for many that this is an issue that bores... and that many think, as David Horowitz writes in the piece I'm posting below, that it's sore loserism... But no matter how hard I look at the issue I can't get away from the fact that Obama is fighting it. If it's not big deal, produce the birth certificate.
Settle the issue once and for all. WHY is he going to court over it? Why would he give conservatives an issue like this one? Why are so many people looking into it and coming up with more questions rather than answers?
Here's what I posted on the Read My Lipstick Network with more of my thoughts added. I don't like to go into too much of my personal thoughts on the RMLN blog as it's more for general news than MY opinions (although I do get carried away sometimes I know ;-).

The following, which is excellent as The Intellectual Redneck pointed out, is posted on the History News Network as a comment on "David Horowitz: Obama Derangement Syndrome ... Conservatives Need to Shut Up About the Birth Certificate". Hank Rand makes a very credible case for continuing the quest to have Barack Obama stop stonewalling and produce the easily located piece of paper that will stop all the legal challenges in their tracks. There is NO legitimate reason not to produce a birth certificate if it exists.
If I am to understand David Horowitz correctly, he asserts we should void the Constitution because 64 million voters chose Barack Obama. I would hope that if the question were posed to all 64 million: "Would you void the Constitution of the United States to elect a President", enough would choose to answer No to drop the number of voters for Obama substantially if they followed that through to its logical conclusion.
However, insert the name Barack Obama for President in that question and I would guess that number wouldn't drop quite so drastically. Although I seriously doubt most who punched the Obama name on the ballot knew about the question of his place of birth, and if they did, they "assumed" it was Republican hype.
Horowitz gives Alan Keyes the credit for pushing the birth certificate issue. He is incorrect. Keyes is just the latest to get on the bandwagon. His article, in my humble opinion, is NOT well thought out.
I'll take it one step further for Horowitz... why isn't it important? Why shouldn't we know the birthplace of our President? If it were another issue in the Constitution would Horowitz be so quick to chalk it up to sore loserism? If, instead of Barack Obama, we substituted the name Bill Ayers, or Chavez, or Arnold Schwarzenegger, would he write the same article? What if everyone had gone to the polls and written in the name George Bush giving him a third term? Yes, I know that could never happen given the way the media has trashed Bush, but what if? The voters would have spoken.
Either the Constitution is right, or it is wrong. Either we live by its statements, or we don't. This is a bigger issue than Barack Obama's birth certificate in my mind. This is an issue of lines, of where we're heading in this country, of what is really important.
Mr. Obama needs to produce his birth certificate if he can do so and stop fighting. Unfortunately, I think he's well aware that the chances of the Supreme Court handing down an unfavorable ruling, negating the vote, is highly unlikely. The question will remain. Once he's circumvented the Constitution, the rest of the path he's outlining should be easy going.

Obama's Birth Certificate and Citizenship Problems
I'm rec'd this info in a Yahoo group (TeamSarah2012) I'm in and thought it was great info, long, but gives you the ability to get involved and ACT before it's too late re: Obama's lack of bonafides (remember the movie Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?). Hat tip to Linda Shaw, she's doing a phenomenal job of collecting and disseminating this info!
The following is information everyone should know and action to take regardless of for whom you voted.
Note: It has been suggested that we all sign our letters: "A Friend of the Court."
There are two issues regarding Senator Obama:
his birth certificate proving that Obama was born in Hawaii.
his citizenship papers showing that Obama has U.S. citizenship.
In Indonesia, there are school records showing he was registered as Barry Soetero, with Indonesian citizenship. At age 10, Obama left Indonesia, using an Indonesian passport, to move back to Hawaii. At that point, he should have re-applied to become a citizen of the U.S.
Facts: Obama has yet to release birth certificate or citizenship documents (as well as others)
Why? It is a simple thing to present and stop the speculation and unify the country with the truth.
Fact: There have been state lawsuits filed and/or prepared in WA, FL, NC, CO, CA, OH, FL, CT, GA, TX, MI. Related lawsuits in HI, US District.
Some have been dismissed but they plan to refile. Andy Martin's lawsuit in Hi goes to court on November 18. By Mr. Martin starting in the District Court and with the reasons he is using, he actually has a very good chance of getting the standing that is needed. I read a long article on this last night on a law review.
Fact: Supreme Court lawsuits have been filed in PA and NJ
The one in NJ is in the process of being refiled. All the documents can be seen at:

The key fact surrounds two conversations between the plaintiff-appellant and a key Secretary of State Election Division official wherein the official admitted, twice, that the defendant-Secretary just assumed the candidates were eligible taking no further action to actually verify that they were, in fact, eligible to the office of President. These conversations took place on October 22nd and 23rd.
"Due to some very unorthodox treatment of the case in the NJ Appellate Division, and also by the US Supreme Court Clerk's office, a press conference is now being prepared to coincide with the resubmission of the Stay application to Justice Clarence Thomas."
However, the papers will be given to all the Supreme Court Justices to review.
In PA, the first filed lawsuit was by Phil Berg. It is now in the Supreme Court and Obama's lawyers have to answer the Writ by Dec 1. See Mr. Berg's website: www.obamacrimes.com
There are postings about this on numerous blogs stating that Obama has to present his BC by Dec 1. If you read this, please correct it. The judge has not ordered anything. Obama's lawyers most likely will answer with another motion, which Mr. Berg will answer, then the judge will probably make a decision on whether to proceed. It jeopardizes the case for false information to be floating around the Internet, per his assistant with whom I have spoken.
There is also an issue of who has the right to file and have standing, which brings us to the electoral committee. The electors are the ones who have to do the official voting for the people; therefore, they need to be sure the candidate for whom they are voting is eligible to be President. As of a couple of days ago, 24 electors have joined in the lawsuits asking for Obama to present his documents.

Dr. Douglas W. Schell has a site that has all the information one would need to write these, including a cover letter and attachments that will be added. Much has been added in just the last couple of days.

I actually wrote Dr. Schell as the letter needs to have included in it the request for the citizenship papers. Use the letter, however, include the request in the above sample letter to the justices regarding the citizenship papers. This will need to be added in the initial request of the letter and also where Dr. Schell says he will drop the case when the birth certificate is verified. Just change it to say when birth certificate and citizenship papers are verified. You can modify it to use without his name, however, they are trying to keep track of who is writing and would like you to post. We want to make sure all states are covered.
Electors' Names and Addresses
This is per state. There are 39 out of 50 states completed. It is still being added to so people need to check back frequently. Write your state and if you can write electors in other states, please do so.

Egobama's Birth Certificate Still an Issue
Hi all, I wanted to pass this along for you to check out (I'm going to use "egobama" from now on!):

Patriots, Forgive me if I’m repeating something you are already aware of, but I want to canvas our site with this letter.
Is everyone aware of what’s STILL in the balance regarding BHO’s birth certificate? I just heard an interview on the radio late last night with the man who is heading-up this suit and claim (that Obama is NOT a natural-born U.S. citizen).
It has NOT been thrown out of court nor resolved yet. There was merely a technical reason (forgive me for not knowing the legal term) why the judge who reviewed it couldn’t weigh in on it.
So now it is moving on to some other level in the courts, and won’t even be reviewed until January 1st (days away from inauguration!).

Patriots, Forgive me if I’m repeating something you are already aware of, but I want to canvas our site with this letter.
Is everyone aware of what’s STILL in the balance regarding BHO’s birth certificate? I just heard an interview on the radio late last night with the man who is heading-up this suit and claim (that Obama is NOT a natural-born U.S. citizen).
It has NOT been thrown out of court nor resolved yet. There was merely a technical reason (forgive me for not knowing the legal term) why the judge who reviewed it couldn’t weigh in on it.
So now it is moving on to some other level in the courts, and won’t even be reviewed until January 1st (days away from inauguration!).

Polls still looking good for McCain
Scanning through the various polls and McCain-Palin is still on the rise. One interesting note is that while Barack's numbers are static when asked "who's most likely to win", McCain is picking up a chunk of the undecided group. In one poll Obama was 31% in August and September, McCain was 30% in August. He's now jumped to 46%! That rise came from the undecided column. How 'bout them apples? or votes I should say ;-)

Obama's Claims of Bipartisanship Ring False
On Fox News Sunday this week, host Chris Wallace interviewed Barack Obama's chief political strategist David Axelrod. At one point, Chris Wallace asked Axelrod to list Barack Obama's biparistan achievements during his time in the Senate. Axelrod, providing his standard response, told Chris Wallace that Obama had been a leader in crafting Senate ethics legislation and passing a nuclear non-proliferation deal.

Wallace astutely pointed out, however, both of those "achievements" were passed by unananimous consent in the Senate. The truth is that Barack Obama has never challenged his own party or worked across the aisle on a contentious issue. His lack of bipartisan credentials is reflected by his 2007 voting record, in which he voted with his fellow Democrats 97% of the time.
John McCain has a 25 year record of reaching across the aisle in the United States Senate. John McCain has worked with Demcorats to hold tobacco companies accountable and to reform the campaign finance system. John McCain is also not afraid to buck his own party when necessary. In 2005, John McCain voted against the Bush/Cheney Energy Bill because it did not do enough to confront America's energy crisis. In 2006, he challenged Republican leaders to adopt a new strategy for Iraq, even while his advocacy for the Surge was not popular among Republicans or the public at large. Today, it is clear that the troop surge has been an enormous success.
John McCain will always put his "Country First" in tackling the most important issues of the day. John McCain does not work for special interest groups or the Republican Party, he works for the American people.

Continuing to rise in the polls
The McCain-Palin ticket continues to rise in the polls. Barack Obama came out with an ad today showing he's realizing just how much of an impact Ms. Sarah and Mr. McCain are having on this election. Obama is losing the change mantel and it's scary 'cause that's all he has had to run on. Words. Just words. Empty words.
