I was just listening to Blanche Lincoln talking after her squeak-through election last night. In her rah-rah talk, she said it was 'not being about outside groups' and how Arkansans did it their way, without outside influence, no one telling them how to vote, what to do, yada yada yada...
I had to chuckle (sarcastically, of course). Sometime soon she'll hop on an airplane to Washington, D.C. and do exactly what Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the Washington D.C. power Dems tell her to do...
Yep, no outside influence in Arkansas.
She does exactly what her constituents want right? Uh huh.
And by the way Ms. Lincoln, you got just over 40% of the vote, and then it was only the Democrat vote. That doesn't bespeak a mandate from the voters to anyone who knows basic math. But then again, you like think that spending lowers the deficit so it's understandable that you'd think it was a huge victory. Well, in thinking about it, maybe it was a pretty big victory... you didn't lose outright. Yet.

What's the rush on the health care bill?
I've been pondering this one for weeks, reading articles, listening to pundits, talking with friends. There are as many opinions as there are pundits.
At first, the rush would have been, in my opinion, to keep the American people in the dark. The idea being to get it through before we all woke up.
Didn't happen. We're awake and roaring.
Then the rush became one to get it through before the tide turned completely. The more information that leaked out or made it past the media barrier they've erected, the unhappier the public would become.
Another reason to push is to get it done so they can move on and tackle other things looming on the horizon while they still have a majority in Congress. Card check. Global warming (now climate change since they can't adequately explain the cold weather and temperature decreases). All the rest of the mess Obama is trying to push down America's collective throat.
Obama has a lot to finish up before the 2010 elections. Maybe he feels it's now or never. But then again, he must know, or worry, that if he pushes all his mess through before November 2010, quite possibly the elections will bring a veto-proof majority from the "other side" into Congress. If that happens he has risked a lot given they'll hopefully reverse many, if not most, of his radical changes and he'll have a Congress who won't jump when he says jump.
Which brings me back to wondering why Obama and his crew are willing to risk losing Congress in 2010 just to push through some or all of his agenda. They must have something in the wings they think will protect them in the 2010 elections.
That is the only logical reason I can see for alienating and rousing the sleeping majority.
As said, I believe the end result of success in getting those Obama policies and bills through, the ones we KNOW about at least, is quite assuredly that Obama and the Democrats will lose their stranglehold on Congress in 2010.
Or do they think that once we have health care ala Obama that we'll love it by 2010? or that we'll go back to sleep? What are they banking on? I just can't believe that the Democrats are dumb enough to risk their elected office to get Obama's agenda through.
Maybe Obama is counting on the fact that if he can push more people over to dependency on government by the time the 2010 elections roll around they'll vote to keep those who're giving out the handouts in office. It would be a diabolical plot wouldn't it?

Maybe Obama believes that the financial crisis combined with the Democratic majority combined with his Presidency is a divine mandate to enact his very radical agenda.
Maybe he truly believes that if he can get all this through, the upheaval, turmoil and destruction of the values and precepts in the Constitution will result in a better America, a better world.
Maybe he believes that once we get through it we'll embrace his new world.
Then again, maybe he doesn't care whether we do or not. After all, he'll be part of the new elite and won't have to deal with whatever pain you and I, the "worker class" have to endure.
No matter what he believes about where we're heading under his 'leadership', he still has to get through the 2010 elections. Which brings me back to the thought that he must have something up his sleeve for next year. Although I mentioned

July 2, Colorado Springs: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
The government "ACORN"? The secret weapon in the 2010 election?
ACORN, the biggest Obama getting vote thief, is running for cover at the moment. It's a victory of sorts, but the people who make up ACORN aren't going away. They'll just find new organizations and new hidey-holes. The demise or diminishing of ACORN may actually have the reverse effect of energizing some of the Left's minions. Maybe they'll sign up for the new Obama civilian army... or he'll put them in charge of it.
Something is going on. When I look at all the pieces of the Obama agenda and start to try and make it into a cohesive completed puzzle, I still haven't quite figured out what it's going to look like. The pieces that are still missing for me are the "hows" of getting through the 2010 elections.
Maybe he doesn't think we'll be able to act in concert to 'kick the bums out' in 2010. Maybe he underestimates the numbers. Maybe he's forgetting that for every Tea Party protester, there are 20, 50, 500 or more sitting at home watching, believing, encouraging and waiting to show their ire at the ballot box.
I have never been so proud of our America as I was when I saw the numbers marching in Washington on September 12th and then got reports from across the country of similar efforts going on in small and large towns. We're out here. We're out there. Hopefully we'll still have the right to vote in a free and honest election in 2010. If we do, change is going to happen. Real change. The right kind of change.

The Cloward-Piven strategy sought to apply the tactics of the revolutionary civil rights movement, including urban riots, to the poor as a whole, transcending interest-group politics defined by race to involve interest-group politics defined by class.

The Palin Saga - Democrats Winning by Any Means

Governor Sarah Palin’s surprising resignation announcement in the face of the horrific treatment she received from Democrats and their media allies struck within me a familiar cord. Although Palin’s abuse was mental harassment inflicted through public humiliation via spoken and written words and mounting debt from frivolous ethics charges, she was nonetheless effectively hounded out of public office. This brought to mind the sinister tactics used by Democrats against Republicans after the American Civil War that freed blacks from slavery.
Determined to keep blacks in virtual slavery after losing the Civil War, Democrats set about the task of ending Reconstruction and driving out of the South all Republicans, a result that kept blacks at the mercy of ruthless Democrats for over 100 years.
The facts about the horrors inflicted upon Republicans by Democrats are laid bare in the books “A Short History of Reconstruction” by Dr. Eric Foner and “Unfounded Loyalty” by Wayne Perryman.
The meticulous research by Foner and Perryman uncovered inhumanity by Democrats so startling as to seem surreal. Democrats, Perryman wrote, used every means possible to destroy Reconstruction including lynching, whippings, murder, intimidation, assassinations and mutilations.
Foner exposed how the Ku Klux Klan, that was founded in 1866 as a Tennessee social club and became the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party, spread into nearly every Southern state, launching a “reign of terror” against Republican leaders, black and white. The Klan lynched over 2,000 black Republicans and 1,000 white Republicans.
In a chilling passage Foner wrote: “Jack Dupree, a victim of a particularly brutal murder in Monroe County, Mississippi - assailants cut his throat and disemboweled him, all within sight of his wife, who had just given birth to twins - was ‘president of a republican club‘ and known as a man who ‘would speak his mind’” .
Sarah Palin is a woman who speaks her mind. She is a decent and honorable citizen who loves her family and country. Palin was subjected to a high-tech lynching by Democrats and their media minions because she had the audacity to be a Republican elected official and an apparent great political threat to the Democratic Party’s ruling elite.
For nearly a century, most blacks were aligned with the Republican Party and, thereby, posed a significant threat to the Democratic Party’s quest for power. Terror was used by Democrats for 100 years and monetary handouts for the past 50 years to mold blacks into reliable pawns in the Democratic Party’s political power game. It is ironic that the Democratic Party is now led by President Barack Obama, a black man who unabashedly helps Democrats keep blacks corralled on the Democratic Party’s economic plantation, voting mindlessly for any politician identified as a Democrat.
America, how did we come to the point where we are all held in the Democratic Party’s iron grip of fear of being destroyed personally, as was Sarah Palin, while the Democrats work feverishly to make us economic slaves?

Can Republicans Win Back the Black Vote?
“Why Is the Black Vote in the Democrats’ Pocket?” That is the title of an article by Juliette Ochieng which provides an analysis of why Republicans are having very little success attracting more blacks into the Republican Party. Ochieng opines that blacks have been trained by Democrats to expect political parties to provide quid pro quo. In other words, while Republicans want to help blacks pursue happiness (teach blacks how to fish so they can feed themselves for a lifetime), Democrats want to provide happiness to blacks (give them a fish so they can eat for a day).
The Democratic Party’s strategy of using handouts to garner the black votes, while working to keep blacks mired in poverty, was described as “plantation politics” by President Barack Obama on page 147 of his book “Dreams From My Father”. As a result of the politics of poverty practiced by Democrats, including Obama, the firm belief is now deeply rooted in the black community that the government must "do something” for blacks.
Democrats have been running black communities for the past 40+ years and turned those communities into economic and social wastelands with their failed socialist policies. Yet, Democrats have the gall to blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions caused by the Democrats. Democrats also accuse Republicans of doing nothing to help poor blacks – a charge that resonates with victim mongers.
However, since the beginning of the so-called War on Poverty, over $ 9 trillion has been spent on poverty programs. According to the Washington Post, in one year alone under President George W. Bush, over $500 billion was spent on over 80 poverty-related programs, with little movement in the poverty needle. The problem with black poverty is not money – and it is not the Republican Party.
Notably, only 25% of blacks are poor and living in those dilapidated neighborhoods run by Democrats. The remaining 75% of blacks are prosperous and living in the larger society. Shamefully, Democrats consistently fight efforts of Republicans to help poor blacks living in Democrat-controlled neighborhoods get out of poverty. Most egregious is the fight by Democrats to keep Republicans from providing school choice opportunity scholarships so that black parents can get their children out of failing schools. The money belongs to the people, not the buildings controlled by the teachers’ unions that are supporters of the Democratic Party.
Further, Democrats, aided by liberal journalists and teachers, hide information about black poverty that is embarrassing to Democrats. For instance, after the Civil War, blacks left the plantations run by Democrats with little more than the ragged clothes on their backs. Today, the combined wealth of blacks is over $1.4 trillion – up from the $644 billion in 2005 – a staggering figure that is equivalent to the GNP of the world's 16th largest economy. This is an incredible, historic achievement.
Whenever Republicans attempt to point out that it is the Democrats who are keeping those inner-city blacks mired in poverty, Democrats resort to playing the race card, falsely accusing the Republican Party of being the party of the racists who denied blacks civil rights during and prior to the 1960’s .
The blatant use of race-baiting by Democrats to win the black vote is why any strategy to attract blacks back into the Republican Party must include not only a focus on economic and social issues, but also information about the true history of civil rights.

Perryman wrote his book after conducting years of research and then sued the Democratic Party, demanding an apology for that party’s 150-year history of racism based on the Democratic Party's “States Rights” claims. The Democrats admitted their racist past under oath in court, but refused to apologize because they know that they can take the black vote for granted.
It is frustrating to observe how most black Americans continue to support the Democratic Party, in spite of that party’s reprehensible history of racism and socialism that have caused so much harm to blacks. As author Michael Scheuer stated, the Democratic Party is the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.
At one time in our history, almost all blacks were Republicans because, since its inception in 1854 as the anti-slavery party, the Republican Party has always been the party of freedom and equality for blacks. Studies show that today, still, most blacks share the values of the Republican Party. Those same studies demonstrate that most blacks are very conservative and do not share the values of the Democratic Party that supports same-sex marriage, partial-birth abortion and banning God from the public square.
In order to keep blacks from voting their values or for Republicans, every election cycle, Democrats preach hatred against the Republican Party and get blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans, and not a vote for Democrats.
The message that Democrats gives to poor blacks is despicable. If you remain poor, uneducated and vote for Democrats, we will celebrate your victimhood. If you get a good education, get a good job and vote for Republicans, we will denigrate you as "acting white”, a "sellout”, an "Uncle Tom”, a "House Negro”, a "House N-word", a "Lawn Jockey”, and worse.
Democrats talk tolerance, but practice intolerance, castigating any black person as a “traitor” to his or her race who does not toe the liberal agenda line.
When black Democrat Juan Williams wrote his book entitled "Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead-end Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America" that exposed the deplorable conditions in black communities, Williams was denounced on national TV by another black Democrat as a "Happy Negro".
Brazenly, on the left-wing Internet website called "The News Blog," Democrats posted a doctored photograph of then Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele (now chairman of the RNC) when he was running for a Senate seat, depicting Steele as a "Simple Sambo" with a blackened minstrel-style face, nappy hair and big, think red lips. The cartoon caption read: “Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house”. This contemptible racist stereotype is the same one Democrats used to demean black men during the era of slavery and segregation.
In addition to other outrageous racist images of Dr. Condoleezza Rice produced by several Democrats, cartoonist Jeff Danziger depicted Dr. Rice as an ignorant, barefoot "mammy", reminiscent of the stereotyped black woman in the movie “Gone with the Wind” about the slave era black woman who remarked: "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies". This is the type of racist stereotype Democrats used to demean black women during the era of slavery and segregation.
Democrats now love Gen. Colin Powell, but spewed out racist attacks on Powell before he endorsed Obama and embraced the liberal agenda of higher taxes and a bigger government to provide poverty-producing handouts to blacks.
A video was shot by WKRN Video Journalist Beau Fleenor at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee that shows Al Sharpton demeaning Gen. Powell and Dr. Rice, when Sharpton was asked to give his opinions about whether Powell and Rice were “House Negroes". That video can be found on the Internet at:

The denigration by Democrats of blacks who identify with the Republican Party makes it nearly impossible for the Republican Party to attract blacks into the party, and for black Republicans to get elected to office in black communities. Ochieng opines that blacks have been trained by Democrats to expect political parties to provide quid pro quo. In other words, while Republicans want to help blacks pursue happiness (teach blacks how to fish so they can feed themselves for a lifetime), Democrats want to provide happiness to blacks (give them a fish so they can eat for a day).
The Democratic Party’s strategy of using handouts to garner the black votes, while working to keep blacks mired in poverty, was described as “plantation politics” by President Barack Obama on page 147 of his book “Dreams From My Father”. As a result of the politics of poverty practiced by Democrats, including Obama, the firm belief is now deeply rooted in the black community that the government must "do something” for blacks.
Democrats have been running black communities for the past 40+ years and turned those communities into economic and social wastelands with their failed socialist policies. Yet, Democrats have the gall to blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions caused by the Democrats. Democrats also accuse Republicans of doing nothing to help poor blacks – a charge that resonates with victim mongers.
However, since the beginning of the so-called War on Poverty, over $ 9 trillion has been spent on poverty programs. According to the Washington Post, in one year alone under President George W. Bush, over $500 billion was spent on over 80 poverty-related programs, with little movement in the poverty needle. The problem with black poverty is not money – and it is not the Republican Party.
Notably, only 25% of blacks are poor and living in those dilapidated neighborhoods run by Democrats. The remaining 75% of blacks are prosperous and living in the larger society. Shamefully, Democrats consistently fight efforts of Republicans to help poor blacks living in Democrat-controlled neighborhoods get out of poverty. Most egregious is the fight by Democrats to keep Republicans from providing school choice opportunity scholarships so that black parents can get their children out of failing schools. The money belongs to the people, not the buildings controlled by the teachers’ unions that are supporters of the Democratic Party.
Further, Democrats, aided by liberal journalists and teachers, hide information about black poverty that is embarrassing to Democrats. For instance, after the Civil War, blacks left the plantations run by Democrats with little more than the ragged clothes on their backs. Today, the combined wealth of blacks is over $1.4 trillion – up from the $644 billion in 2005 – a staggering figure that is equivalent to the GNP of the world's 16th largest economy. This is an incredible, historic achievement.
Whenever Republicans attempt to point out that it is the Democrats who are keeping those inner-city blacks mired in poverty, Democrats resort to playing the race card, falsely accusing the Republican Party of being the party of the racists who denied blacks civil rights during and prior to the 1960’s .
The blatant use of race-baiting by Democrats to win the black vote is why any strategy to attract blacks back into the Republican Party must include not only a focus on economic and social issues, but also information about the true history of civil rights.

Perryman wrote his book after conducting years of research and then sued the Democratic Party, demanding an apology for that party’s 150-year history of racism based on the Democratic Party's “States Rights” claims. The Democrats admitted their racist past under oath in court, but refused to apologize because they know that they can take the black vote for granted.
It is frustrating to observe how most black Americans continue to support the Democratic Party, in spite of that party’s reprehensible history of racism and socialism that have caused so much harm to blacks. As author Michael Scheuer stated, the Democratic Party is the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism.
At one time in our history, almost all blacks were Republicans because, since its inception in 1854 as the anti-slavery party, the Republican Party has always been the party of freedom and equality for blacks. Studies show that today, still, most blacks share the values of the Republican Party. Those same studies demonstrate that most blacks are very conservative and do not share the values of the Democratic Party that supports same-sex marriage, partial-birth abortion and banning God from the public square.
In order to keep blacks from voting their values or for Republicans, every election cycle, Democrats preach hatred against the Republican Party and get blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans, and not a vote for Democrats.
The message that Democrats gives to poor blacks is despicable. If you remain poor, uneducated and vote for Democrats, we will celebrate your victimhood. If you get a good education, get a good job and vote for Republicans, we will denigrate you as "acting white”, a "sellout”, an "Uncle Tom”, a "House Negro”, a "House N-word", a "Lawn Jockey”, and worse.
Democrats talk tolerance, but practice intolerance, castigating any black person as a “traitor” to his or her race who does not toe the liberal agenda line.
When black Democrat Juan Williams wrote his book entitled "Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead-end Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America" that exposed the deplorable conditions in black communities, Williams was denounced on national TV by another black Democrat as a "Happy Negro".
Brazenly, on the left-wing Internet website called "The News Blog," Democrats posted a doctored photograph of then Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele (now chairman of the RNC) when he was running for a Senate seat, depicting Steele as a "Simple Sambo" with a blackened minstrel-style face, nappy hair and big, think red lips. The cartoon caption read: “Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house”. This contemptible racist stereotype is the same one Democrats used to demean black men during the era of slavery and segregation.
In addition to other outrageous racist images of Dr. Condoleezza Rice produced by several Democrats, cartoonist Jeff Danziger depicted Dr. Rice as an ignorant, barefoot "mammy", reminiscent of the stereotyped black woman in the movie “Gone with the Wind” about the slave era black woman who remarked: "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies". This is the type of racist stereotype Democrats used to demean black women during the era of slavery and segregation.
Democrats now love Gen. Colin Powell, but spewed out racist attacks on Powell before he endorsed Obama and embraced the liberal agenda of higher taxes and a bigger government to provide poverty-producing handouts to blacks.
A video was shot by WKRN Video Journalist Beau Fleenor at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee that shows Al Sharpton demeaning Gen. Powell and Dr. Rice, when Sharpton was asked to give his opinions about whether Powell and Rice were “House Negroes". That video can be found on the Internet at:

Time for a revolution.
We're heading back to the days of imperialism if not worse.
Our country was formed to get away from the tyranny that is in the works as I type.
There's a master plan at play and too many Americans are blindly going about their daily lives as the plan is enacted.
Czars that report directly to the President bypassing Congress?
Companies owned and run by the government?
"State run" (ie., government) health care?
The Census.
Now the CRAP and TAX?
The list is much longer than I just popped out. You will wake up and we'll be living in 1984, Soylent Green or some combination of all the books we toss out as "don't want to go there's".
While protests are good and great and I'll be there, we need to be organizing to get the vote out. I know the protests are great ways to energize and engage more people, they're helping to bring attention to causes and hopefully wake up a few of our sleeping Republicans. But we also need to be pounding the streets, handing out information, organizing to go door to door and more.
It is going to take non-politicians to make it happen. It's going to take you and I working our tails off like the organizers of the Tea Party groups are doing (major kudos to all of you!). More Americans HAVE to get involved. More Americans HAVE to wake up.
What is it with these idiot Republicans who voted YES for crap and tax??? Unfortunately, there are many in Washington who sell their souls daily to stay in power. They compromise their principles to appease their voters. I don't know the motivation of the turncoats who sold their countries future in the crap and tax vote. They can dress it up rhetorically any way they want, but the bottom line is they stabbed our free America in the back. One day, if history books are still being freely and truthfully written, their names will be listed in the same column we put Neville Chamberlain, Benedict Arnold and their ilk.
Our Republican politicians need to keep their pants zipped, too. Everyone is human, they fail, but man when a Republican steps over the line it becomes the world's biggest news story. It's a distraction and the press loves it. Can't you guys be good enough long enough to allow us a couple of good elections?
There are a lot of things at play right now. It's the perfect storm as everyone has become fond of saying. Every time one of our Republican politicians steps off the straight and narrow track due to egos, the idiotic thought that they can hide something, letting power mush their judgement, believing the hype or whatever, they poke a hole in our ship. The ship that is already battling the perfect storm.
Too many topics to cover... crap and tax, dallying politicians, vote rigging, protests, America asleep at the wheel.
It's time for a revolution. I'm just not sure if there are sufficient numbers of us out here who are engaged and care enough to make it happen. I hope there are, I hope we can connect and organize. Hope is not a method, but it surely is important! Hope and action combined can work miracles.
Viva la revolution. Let's get it on.

Global gun control?
Saturday our local probate judge attended our regular Republican monthly breakfast. I was chatting with her when someone came up and said told her wanted to get a permit to carry a concealed weapon. The judge said, with a chuckle, to get in line, they were being overwhelmed with requests. She figured that pretty much everyone in our county must have a permit or be in line to get one.
Our county has one of the lowest crime rates in the state. We have tough law enforcement. We have tough judges. No hand-holding here... crooks and druggies know they're going away if caught here. In fact, surrounding counties work with law enforcement to lure drug dealers into our county for busts because they know they'll get their butts kicked.
Crime is increasing in the county though. I suppose it's because we have a higher per capita income and that's attractive to crooks. They all figure they're going to be able to get away with whatever crime they want to commit, don't they?
Even with the rising crime rate, we're still seeing less than the rest of the state. I rather like living here, although I could live without that ticket I received recently.
One of the reasons people are lining up for gun permits, not just concealed weapon permits, is they see bad times coming on a number of fronts. The current crew would take away every law abiding citizen's guns if they could. They'd then wonder why the crime rate sky-rocketed. Although, maybe they're looking for excuses for marshal law. Who knows.
Many are reasoning that they'd better get their guns now while they can, just in case Obama and friends are successful in banning guns. I would bet the number of reported stolen guns will probably be on the rise in the near future, too, as people figure out that there's a record of gun ownership and their guns can be confiscated.
Another reason people are wanting to get their guns now is they know crime is increasing. Whether it's from the downturn in the economy or the wimpy judges we're seeing or the new give everyone a break mentality that's permeating our society, many see that things aren't going to get better in the crime arena. Best to have your own protection.
You can't love a criminal or a sociopath into not shooting when they're standing in front of you with their hand on the trigger of a gun. You sure can stop them if you are fast enough with your own gun or have one at the ready when they break down your door.
If you think an America without guns for law-abiding citizens would be bad, how about a world without legal guns? One thing that I never hear anyone explain is how they're going to take guns away from criminals. Even if we stopped manufacturing guns around the world legally, criminals are going to find a way to stockpile those already in existence, and then have factories to make their own.

Last week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee held a hearing on the nomination of Harold Koh, a former Dean of the Yale Law School, to be Legal Advisor to the State Department. One of the many concerns with Koh is his belief that international organizations should be empowered to regulate the Second Amendment right to own a firearm.
On April 2, 2002, Koh gave a speech to the Fordham University School of Law titled “A World Drowning in Guns” where he mapped out his vision of global gun control. Koh advocated an international “marking and tracing regime.” He complained that “the United States is now the major supplier of small arms in the world, yet the United States and its allies do not trace their newly manufactured weapons in any consistent way.” Koh advocated a U.N.-governed regime to force the U.S. “to submit information about their small arms production.”

If it weren't for the rest of the stuff, I'd be laughing
Most Democrats, many Independents, and even a few Republicans flocked to Obama because he promised "Change" with a capital C. War on terror? Gone. Excess spending? Gone. Huge government, excesses? Gone. Earmarks? Gone. The schism between the two Parties? Gone.
Everyone from the media to the mindless masses swallowed his lines and gulped the kool-aide.
Now we're living with the reality of Obamavision.
War? Shift the troops to Afghanistan and pull 'em back from Iraq. When are the troops coming home? Roughly the same time President Bush said they'd be coming home and a bit further out than Obama originally promised.
Excess spending? Without the stimulus-porkulus-scamulus package Obama's budget still, especially coupled with the $410 billion Omnibus package and all the other bits he's doling out, makes Bush look like Ebenezer Scrooge.
Cutting back on government? Hold on, I am having to laugh at this one... picture busy little bees building glorious hives, ever expanding hives, bzzzzz, bzzzz... except the end result sure isn't going to be sweet. Maybe a better analogy would have been the killer ants that sweep through areas decimating them.
Earmarks? He stood strong on that one for all of about ten seconds didn't he? Have you ever heard such a lame excuse as the one he is using to justify the signing of the killer Omnibus (if it gets through, when it gets through). He's not going to veto the bill that President Bush said he'd veto because it was something that got started during the "I'll veto it" Bush administration. Wouldn't it make a bit more sense to say, well, President Bush wouldn't approve it during his administration, and I don't believe in earmarks, so I will veto it unless you strip the earmarks?
I wish every Republican who had an earmark in the Omnibus would stand up and ask to have it dropped from the bill. Wouldn't that say something? It would also take "true grit" and we know that's something many of our Republicans haven't got. Yet.
Kumbaya, love and happiness between the Republicans and Democrats? Sure, Obama said he was a miracle worker. Then he starts pumping out advanced socialism (as opposed to socialism 101), starts printing money like it's not real, raids the kids piggy banks for generations to come, ignores the Republicans, goes on a rampage to reverse every good thing President Bush and / or the Republicans ever did and then invites everyone to share a group hug. Kind of hard to hug someone who's slapping and kicking you.
So now Obama is channeling Cheney in regards to wire-tapping according to the Wall Street Journal. Anyone surprised?
You know, if he weren't destroying the country with all his actions, I'd be laughing at the fools who voted for this man. I'd be saying "I told you so." You wanted change? However, while he may not be keeping those campaign promises that drew the crowds, he's making other changes that are bad-news serious. Seems he's managing to alienate people on both sides of the aisle. An equal opportunity destructo machine.
Based on the poll numbers it appears that many are still in la-la land when it comes to seeing the reality of what's going on. Obama is out there campaigning and selling his wares just as successfully it seems. I pray our fellow citizens wake up before his actions take us too far over the brink.

Arlen Specter
Here's what I've been able to find about opposition. Not much. If anyone knows of names to track, sites recruiting opposition, etc. please let me know. It sounds like Specter will have a tough race even without opposition. We don't want to lose the seat to a Democrat, but after today's vote I'm not sure it really matters. If he's going to vote like a Democrat, why shouldn't we try to support a strong conservative Republican instead?

Arlen Specter will be the Democrats #2 target (after Judd Gregg). He will be 80 in 2010, has incurable cancer, and is from a blue state. Furthermore, he may face a primary challenge from the right from Pat Toomey, who challenged him in 2004. But beating Toomey won't be enough. If Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA) can be talked into challenging him, Specter is in huge trouble, but he will also have a big fight on his hands against any of the numerous Democratic representatives from Pennsylvania. Hardball host Chris Matthews may also be interested in the job.

Former Rep. Pat Toomey said this week that he is considering a rematch of his 2004 challenge to Specter - a brutal contest Specter barely survived (the margin was less than 2%. Toomey then became president of the Club for Growth and thus funded a number of other challenges to Republican incumbents perceived as moderates, meeting defeat in a number of races (Rhode Island’s Senate race in 2006, AK-AL in 2008) and some short-lived success in others (MI-07 and MD-01, though Democrats defeated the Club-backed candidate in the general election in both districts this fall).
“He’s significantly more vulnerable now than he was in 2004,” Toomey said of Specter. He unveiled a very interesting argument: Tens of thousands of voters who were registered Republican in 2004 have since switched their party registration and can thus no longer vote in Pennsylvania’s closed Republican primary. Those voters were Specter’s natural constituency, giving Toomey a boost over their 2004 match-up.
Needless to say, another bloody primary would help Democrats in this race. If he survives, Specter would be softened up for the general election. If Toomey prevails, the Democratic nominee would have to be considered the favorite to pick-up the seat.

Nope, no matter how I rearrange their names, I still see three RINOs.
Turncoats.
Not only have they betrayed their fellow Republican Senators, they have betrayed the country.
When history is written, assuming there will be a day when accurate history writing still exists, those three will be listed as the ones who destroyed the greatest country in the world.
They have handed the Democrats, the liberals, Obama and friends everything they've ever wanted. They have made our fight to preserve liberty and freedom a mockery.
We should wear black arm bands. We need to send condolence cards. The country should be in mourning. I am.
That was not a compromise they hammered out, it was America being sold behind closed doors.

Don't forget the Fairness Doctrine!
While we're all concentrating on trying to stop the stimulus, Obama, Pelosi and team are working on ways to further their other agendas (which all dovetail together nicely, of course). Once again talk radio is a target of the left and they're going to be trying to slide that one through soon. Talk radio is a thorn in their side and as long as conservatives talk show hosts are out there talking, they can't sneak things through (or whitewash the bills sufficiently so we think they're innocuous).
Another one that is winding it's way into law that needs our full attention is the Employee Fair Choice Act. You know, the one that takes choice away from workers and will make the Unions another arm of government? It's a power grab by the Unions and payback from Obama and friends for getting them into office.
Either one of those two will spell "the end" for America the brave and the free.
Health care is another bad one coming down the pike. I don't know if we can stop that one, but I certainly intend to try.
Think about our government running MORE of our lives! Did you hear last night that our government paid something like $30 or $40 billion for AIG assets worth $14 million or billion? My husband walked in and told me about it so I'm getting that second hand. Here's a quote from a CNBC story (sorry, but that's the first one that came up... arrggg, hate to give them any publicity):
My own tale of government intelligence is a doosey, which I'll save for another day. It has to do with taxes.
I used to work for the government, sad to say. I worked for a quasi-government agency that the government enveloped into their fold after I'd been there ten years. Talk about a change in philosophy. I was actually called into the office and chastised because I was working too efficiently and it was making everyone else look bad... I was told not to stay after hours to finish critical projects (even though I was salary and it didn't cost them a penny).
That's the day I decided I'd finally had enough and started working toward starting my own business. That day was also a turning point in my shift from "liberal" to conservative. While I was in my corporate cocoon, I didn't have to think for myself, didn't have to be responsible. I had fun, lived for the day and went with the flow. I didn't spend a whole lot of brain energy thinking about politics, where the country was headed, and the issues of the day.
I'll share more of my story someday, suffice it to say that as you can tell when I pop in here to blog, I'm aware now!
We have something precious in this country and I fear that we are getting ready to lose it. I saw the previous post one of my Barracuda Babe friends posted. It is SCARY. We have to stand up and fight like we've never fought before.
They are going to be adding little bits and pieces into bills that will further their agenda. I don't know what their ultimate goal is, all I can do is look at what is being proposed and guess.
Please, please, please pick up the phone and call. Send an email. Write a letter. If you're like I used to be and your day to day life consumes you, try to carve out 20 minutes a day to skim the Internet and read BOTH sides (if you're inclined to float left). Try to keep an open mind.

It struck me, as I was listening to a discussion on the non-economy stimulating package, that it really doesn't matter if none of us in voter land don't want it.
Once the Dems get this package through, and they will, our world will change. They'll be sitting pretty and whether we like it or not, we'll be stuck with them forever.
Think about all the things that are included in the trillion dollar future-killer.
Money for the poor. Those receiving the money will vote for who??? Of course they're going to vote for the ones who hand them their livelihood. They will be dependent.
Money for groups like ACORN. So much for fair votes, balanced votes, honest votes.
While Congress is stuffing this bill down our throats Mr. Obama is taking action to increase the power of the Unions. Where are they going to funnel money when the next election cycle rolls around?
Obama and the Democrats are building an army of dependent voters. They're killing the free market. Eventually they'll kill the incentive to work and get ahead, excel.
In the near future they're going to implement the un-"Fairness Doctrine" which will put an end to talk radio. They won't stop there.
If you look at all that is in the "stimulus" package it's nothing but payback and pay forward with a few jobs thrown in to sweeten the pot (or cover up the stink).
Once they get this passed, it's not going to matter one bit whether we liked it or whether we like anything they do in the future. They'll be elected by those who owe them, and those who owe their existence to the current group in the majority.
If there's any way we can stop this boondoggle, we need to do it!

Key Democrat rips stimulus, predicts more bailouts
Maybe there's some hope... We're going to need some Democratic and Independent help if we're going to squash the stick-it-to-us-stimulus package.

A key Democrat on Tuesday lambasted the economic stimulus bill that is headed to the House floor, claiming it was put together too quickly and won’t help the economy in the short term. Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), who chairs the Financial Services subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises, said on C-SPAN that Democrats have "lost our way" and "shouldn't be pressed by silly deadlines" of getting the bill into law by the Presidents Day recess...

On an anti-Geithner bender...
I feel like the base of our country is being chipped at from all sides. Sooner or later they're going to chip just enough off the bottom and the country will topple. Where are the American people of character and principle? Tell me we haven't crossed the line yet, that there are enough people involved and concerned who are willing to fight? who understand the importance of taking time to learn what's happening outside their own little nest? Arrggg... can you tell I am FRUSTRATED!
But take heart, I'm getting close to getting it out of my system. Maybe.
Wait until you read my next posts on the stupid-stimulus package if you think I'm over the top on Geithner. Geithner being voted in is nothing compared to what's getting ready to happen with the bailout / stimulus package. That one isn't a chip and chisel, it's a bulldozer.

I hope more Senators take a principled stand… The vote is at 6pm EST tonight. It makes no sense to put a tax cheat in charge of the treasury… PRN U.S. Senator Susan Collins today announced that she will oppose the confirmation of Timothy Geithner, who was nominated to be U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. The Republicans who voted for Geithner
I'm going to "assume" that the ten Republicans who voted to approve tax-cheat Geithner made a stand on some kind of principle. I can't imagine which principle would trump ethics, common sense, character and ability to lead with pride, but that's just li'l ol me way down here in voter land.
Here's the list:
Corker (R-TN)
Cornyn (R-TX)
Crapo (R-ID)
Ensign (R-NV)
Graham (R-SC)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hatch (R-UT)
Shelby (R-AL)
Snowe (R-ME)
Voinovich (R-OH)
Here are some Democrats and an Independent who caucuses with the Democrats I'd like to commend for standing on principles:
Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa
Sen. Robert Byrd of West Virginia
Sen. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin
Independent Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont
Those four voted against Geithner.
The vote was 60 - 34. One of our Republicans missed the vote but would have voted no. If the Republicans had all voted no it wouldn't have changed the vote. Assuming that the one Republican and three Democrats who didn't vote still didn't vote, it would have been 44 nays against 50 yippie-yi-yays.
But you know, I'd have just felt better about our Republican caucus.
We need to watch carefully to see who's voting for what in these next few days and months. Let's get some people in there with backbone and principles.
