Bipartisan Support for a New Approach
Last week, as the Majority pushed through an $800-plus billion borrowing-and-spending bill disguised as “stimulus,” fiscally responsible members of Congress took a stand for American taxpayers. Even though it ultimately passed, many Democrats broke ranks to join Republicans and oppose a package that will only deepen our current economic crisis and leave future generations with a mountain of debt. Members on both sides of the aisle made it clear that an enormous government expenditure is not a solution. As Congress continues to debate the best course of action for our struggling economy, I look forward to working with members in both parties who recognize that lower taxes and less government interference will pave the way for America’s economic revival.
