Really critical that we have that bailout, huh?

Yep, the world is coming to an end if we don't get that bailout yesterday. No wait, we had to have it the day before to keep everything from collapsing. Aw, man, wrong again, we had to have it last week if we were going to save the world.

OK, missed the deadline for the end of the world, so lets just take a couple of days off.

Ho hum, everything still working?

Sho nuff? OK, why not wait another week or so and just see how it goes.

No way, we have to do it the day we get back from our time off or the world will collapse.

Anyone out there on "main street" believing the hype?

Anyone out there on "main street" believe there isn't a better way to handle this mess without putting the same folks who messed it up in charge of cleaning it up?

If this was really so critical how come the twelve guys on Barnie's committee voted no? They only needed twelve votes to pass the thing. 94 or 95 Democrats didn't vote for it. Why couldn't they just go along with Nancy to set the world back on its financial axis? It came down to twelve votes if I totaled the numbers correctly. Twelve.

Am I the only person who finds it peculiar that Pelosi is so all fired up about getting a plan from the Bush administration through? There has to be some powerful incentives in there for the Democrats, such as more power for the government and less for the people.

When I think about the IRS, Welfare, Social Security, and every other agency or program the government handles I cringe to think what could become of this one.

The media keep trying to paint the angst of "main street" as hating having fat cats leave failing companies with golden parachutes. I don't like it but that's not my main beef with the bailout at all. I don't want the grasping fingers of the government taking over anything they can mess up, and mess it up they will.

Read the 106 Page Bailout Draft

Finally found the entire draft, not just the Pelosi mumbo-jumbo overview. I understand we have some stalwart House Republicans holding out until the fine print and brackets have been finalized! Keep on holding out guys and gals, this is tough to swallow even with the concessions the Republicans have obtained.

Here's the link on CNN Money:

http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/28/news/pdf/index.htm

Just wanted to include a quick thank you to John McCain for rolling up your sleeves and being willing to fight the good fight. If they HAD already agreed on a bailout like the Democrats lied, then I would have been glad you stopped it! Nancy Pelosi is crazy if she thinks fighting to protect our interests, the people who are out here struggling every day to make the American dram real, is unpatriotic.

Email I rec'd tonight: 143 Days Experience

You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Please, please forward this before it's too late!!!!

An uh-duh moment on the Dems and Sarah Palin

I'm sure wiser minds than mine have already thought and discussed this, but all of sudden this evening it hit me. The Democrats understand that the Republicans stand a good chance of beating them when it comes to putting the first woman in as President (not just Vice President).

They dumped their best bet for first female President, Hillary Clinton.

Then they ignored her as a Vice Presidential candidate.

Now we have a fantastic woman running for Vice President who, if elected, has an excellent chance of being the first female President somewhere down the road. I'd venture to say she stands a good chance of being President even if (God forbid) we don't win in November.

The Democrats are green with envy. They are supposed to have the "firsts" when it comes to women and minorities as they see it, even though the factual records don't support the contention that they actually promote equality in any category be it gender or race.

We have a good looking, articulate, intelligent (brilliant), personable woman who lives what they supposedly espouse and they can't stand it.

They wouldn't like her simply because she's a Republican, no matter what else she believed. However, the fact that she is going to beat them to that "first" is scaring them half to death. The fact that so many of us think she is fantastic and so many women are rallying to her side is curling their toes in envy, is ripping them a new one and driving them nuts. Especially since no matter what they do, no matter what they try, she just keeps gaining support.

Until tonight I hadn't thought about the long-term Presidential "first" aspect of having Sarah in the race, although I fully expected her to be President someday. I hadn't considered how crazy it must be making the Democrats and how it has tossed their plans into disarray! They felt they could get away with Barack Obama on the ticket with anyone, they figured Democratic women would fall in line and vote Democratic. They were wrong. Women are TIRED of being taken for granted and whether we believe exactly the same way Sarah does on every issue is beside the point. We identify with her independence and willingness to forge her own path.

I can't end without again saying thanks to John McCain for having the good judgement to pick Sarah Palin! He did it his way and his way was the right way!

Even MORE from the press on the debate!

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos: "These guys came to play on each other's turf. It was really surprising to me is that John McCain came in here with a disadvantage on the economy. Barack Obama had a big advantage, yet I think he spent the 30 minutes very effectively pounding home the points that have to control spending and earmarks." (ABC News' "Vote 08: The Candidates Debate," 9/26/08)

· Stephanopoulos: "I thought other interesting stylistic differences, John McCain, good on emotion, good on establishing emotional connections with his stories." (ABC News' "Vote 08: The Candidates Debate," 9/26/08)

MSNBC's Pat Buchanan: "John McCain clearly won this battle on points. He was aggressive all evening long. He was very tough. He constantly portrayed Barack directly and indirectly as sort of weak and indecisive and inconstant making these statements. He also had a most powerful, emotional moments. I think that Wolfsborough story and that 640 guys re-upping in Iraq, and that woman giving him that bracelet--I think those things reached the heart and the gut. I will say this about Barack Obama. He did what he had to do in the sense that he came off as a tough fellow, a counterpuncher who would stand up to John McCain, and I think he helped himself in that regard, but overall I really think John McCain came off as the winner of this debate, but I go directly to Chris' point." NBC's Tom Brokaw: "That was the most distinctive difference obviously once we got into the area of national security. John McCain bored in on Barack Obama. He's been reading the same polls we all have. There are grave reservations in most of the polls about whether Barack Obama has enough experience and whether he's qualified to be commander in chief. And tonight Senator McCain went right after that vulnerability in Barack Obama." (NBC's "Presidential Debate Coverage," 9/26/08)

More from the press on the McCain debate

"The Mac Is Back," As "McCain Not Only Found A Central Theme But Hit On It Repeatedly"
Politico's Roger Simon: "John McCain was very lucky that he decided to show up for the first presidential debate in Oxford, Miss., Friday night. Because he gave one of his strongest debate performances ever. While Barack Obama repeatedly tried to link McCain to the very unpopular George W. Bush, Bush's name will not be on the ballot in November and McCain's will. And McCain not only found a central theme but hit on it repeatedly. Obama is inexperienced, naive, and just doesn't understand things, McCain said. Sure, McCain is a pretty old guy for a presidential candidate, but he showed the old guy did not mind mixing it up. He stood behind a lectern for 90 minutes without a break -- you try that when you are 72 -- and he not only gave as good as he got, he seemed to relish it more. At least twice after sharp attacks by McCain, Obama seemed to look to moderator Jim Lehrer for help, sa ying to Lehrer, 'Let's move on.'" (Roger Simon, "The Mac Is Back," Poltico, 9/27/08)

· Simon: "But McCain seemed to get it Friday night. He certainly knew enough to try to turn his age into a plus and not a minus. 'There are some advantages to experience, knowledge and judgment,' McCain said. ... McCain seemed to be enjoying himself. He smiled a lot, mostly when Obama was talking, though his smile was really more like a smirk. ... Both avoided their negative stereotypes: Obama did not seem aloof or condescending. McCain did not seem erratic or wild. You could imagine either one of them in the Oval Office, but only one is going to get there. 'I don't need any on-the-job training,' McCain said. 'I am ready to go at it right now.' He certainly seemed like it Friday night." (Roger Simon, "The Mac Is Back," Poltico, 9/27/08)

"It Was One Of The Most Substantive Debates In Recent Presidential Campaign History And John McCain Won It. The Arizona Senator Was Cool, Informed And Forceful ..."
The Des Moines Register's David Yepsen: "It was one of the most substantive debates in recent presidential campaign history and John McCain won it. The Arizona senator was cool, informed and forceful in Friday's first presidential debate of the general election campaign. He repeatedly put Barack Obama on the defensive throughout the 90 minutes session. Obama did little to ease voter concerns that he's experienced enough to handle foreign and defense policy. That was his number one task Friday night and he failed." (David Yepsen, "McCain Wins Round 1," The Des Moines Register's "On Politics" Blog, www.desmoinesregister.com, 9/26/08)

The New Republic's Michael Crowley: "McCain also had a clarity of message that Obama lacked. His core message is easy to sum up: Let's cut waste and spending. I'm a tough leader. Obama is naive and unprepared. Obama, by contrast, had no single message that he repeatedly drove home." (Michael Crowley, "McCain Was Good. But Good Enough?" The New Republic's "Stump" Blog, blogs.tnr.com, 9/26/08)

· Crowley: "And stylistically, McCain was more in control. He was the one setting the tone and introducing nettlesome topics, forcing Obama to respond and defend himself." (Michael Crowley, "McCain Was Good. But Good Enough?" The New Republic's "Stump" Blog, blogs.tnr.com, 9/26/08)

ABC's David Wright: "McCain, too, not only had a strong performance tonight, but seemed to have a strategy throughout. As George said, you heard him mention over and over again, Senator Obama doesn't seem to understand. He also kept mentioning his travel schedule. I've been to Waziristan, I've been to South Ossetia, and at the very end he paid it off with his humdinger of a line at the end, saying that basically, he doesn't need on the job experience. I think the McCain campaign is very pleased with it." (ABC's "Vote '08: Presidential Debate Analysis," 9/26/08)

The New York Times' Bill Kristol: "I think McCain won the debate. I think there will be a deal this weekend and he will be vindicated in his efforts to some degree to have actually dealt with reality as opposed to going around giving stump speeches and the McCain campaign will have momentum going into next week and that will set up the Palin-Biden debate." (Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor," 9/26/08)

On foreign policy he was devastating -- making clear how much more resolute and experienced he is." (Jennifer Rubin, "The Winner," Commentary's "Contentions" Blog, www.commentarymagazine.com, 9/26/08)

"McCain Was Repeatedly On The Offensive And To Some Extent, Obama Was On The Defensive"
Presidential Historian Michael Beschloss: "[J]ohn McCain was repeatedly on the offensive and to some extent, Obama was on the defensive. I was surprised by that. in terms of strategy, we'll see what works. But often times in debates, if a candidate does go on the offensive, it does tend to work. That's what Kennedy did in 1960. It's what Ronald Reagan did in 1980 and it is what Bill Clinton did in 1992." (PBS's "Presidential Debate," 9/26/08)

The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza: "McCain's strongest moment of the debate also happened to be Obama's weakest. McCain absolutely hammered Obama over his pledge to meet with rogue foreign leaders without preconditions and Obama had no ready answer -- odd since he had to know this attack was coming. McCain was able to turn a single question about meeting with rogue leaders into an extended colloquy that ended with him hitting Obama for misunderstanding Henry Kissinger. A very good moment for McCain." (Chris Cillizza, "The Mississippi Debate: First Thoughts And Who Won?" The Washington Post's "The Fix" Blog, voices.washingtonpost.com, 9/26/08)

· Cillizza: "He poked fun at his age several times, jabbed Obama playfully yet effectively (I don't even have a presidential seal') and seemed in command of the subject matter and the stage. When moderator Jim Lehrer said at one point that the two candidates had spoken for almost the same amount of time, we were surprised; McCain seemed from our perspective to command more time." (Chris Cillizza, "The Mississippi Debate: First Thoughts and Who Won?" The Washington Post's "The Fix" Blog, voices.washingtonpost.com, 9/26/08)

Los Angeles Times: "But McCain closed strongly, becoming more assertive in the debate's final 30 minutes and zinging Obama time and again as out of his league on foreign policy." · Castellanos: "I thought McCain was successful, even though Barack Obama scored a lot. I think on a few more points, McCain kind of dragged him down into the foreign policy debate and worked him over, I thought pretty good. ... It looked almost a little bit like at times Obama was looking for the flash cards and he'd crammed for the exam and McCain obviously didn't have to do that..." (CNN's "Debate Coverage," 9/26/08)

What the press is saying about the debates (from McCain Campaign)

Fortune's Nina Easton: "I thought it was a really good night for John McCain In the first 35 for a couple of reasons. The first 35 minutes I counted seven or eight attacks. He just went after Obama. Everything from accusing him of supporting earmarks to accusing him of supporting a -- what did he say? An energy bill that was festooned with goodies. And it seemed to knock Obama off balance. It did two things it knocked Obama off balance he really had trouble getting his sea legs again and secondly, it moved this whole conversation about the financial crisis back to a conversation that John McCain is comfortable with, which is spending. They didn't really talk about the financial crisis that much. And so I thought and the other thing is, just in terms of style, John McCain comes off as very clear, direct, you know, I looked at Putin and I saw KGB in his eyes. He talks directly. There's still something bland and policy-speak about Barack Obama that I don't think does really well in these settings. He comes off as -- and I know people use the term 'cool,' but I find it policy-speak in rounded edges and not direct." (Fox News' "On The Record With Greta Van Susteren," 9/26/08)

CNN's Bill Schneider: "McCain scores a good point, that under Obama's original plan on Iraq, US troops would have been out last spring, before the implementation of the surge." ABC News' Jake Tapper: "9:53 - 'You don't do that, you don't say that out loud,' McCain says about Obama's threat to sent US troops into Pakistan to strike at high-level al Qaeda operatives if given high level intelligence, with or without Pakistani government permission. McCain quotes George Schulz saying don't point a gun unless you're prepared to pull the trigger. Credible riff here, I think." (Jake Tapper, "Live-Bloggin' The Debate," blogs.abcnews.com, 9/26/08)

ABC News' Rick Klein: "9:08 pm CT: You knew this was coming -- a blistering attack on the preconditions line Obama has long wished he never delivered. This is a McCain layup." (Rick Klein, "Live Debate Blog," ABC News, blogs.abcnews.com, 9/26/08)

The Politico's Jonathan Martin: "McCain has a strong moment early, drawing an implicit contrast with President Bush. (Jonathan Martin, "McCain Forceful On Accountability," The Politico's "Jonathan Martin" Blog, www.politico.com, 9/26/08)

MSNBC's Carrie Dann: "McCain's is the message that tests more strongly with voters. The latest NBC/WSJ poll showed that respondents prefer 'a president who will go in and clean up Washington and take on the waste and fraud in the system' to 'a president who will end the Bush administration policies, and have active government oversight.' by a margin of 67 to 29%" (Carrie Dann, "The Two Money Messages: How They Test," MSNBC's "First Read" Blog, firstread.msnbc.com, 9/26/08)

(Jim Geraghty, "'Gateway Drug' And 'It Corrupts People!' Seem To Move The Dials," National Review Online's "The Campaign Spot" Blog, 9/26/08)

McCain did great!

I thought John McCain did great tonight. I was a bit concerned given the events of the past few days. I thought the running back and forth, the stress of the situation and the loss of preparation time might adversely impact his performance. He rose to the challenge fantastically.

I thought Obama's facial contortions were very UN-Presidential. His smirks and the continual interruptions were NOT Presidential. It was rude. While McCain is talking Obama's off to the side going, "me, me, me, let me talk" like a child who just can't wait his turn.

I didn't see any major flubs by Obama, definitely none by Senator McCain.

I did NOT like the lack of respect Obama showed by calling Senator McCain "John" while Senator McCain was respectful of Obama in using his title.

I thought Senator McCain did a very good job of driving home the fact that Senator Obama does not have the experience to lead. After tonight's debate it was clear that Obama does not have the temperament and maturity to be President.

Overall I thought the debate was very good. I enjoyed the lack of formality and the way the debate was conducted (despite the fact that I wanted to put a curtain over Obama's side while he was jumping up and down trying to get attention while McCain was talking).

McCain got the last shot in and I liked his zinger ending.

Red State Fem

Interesting commentary on Red State Feminists website:

Topic A: Can a Feminist be a Conservative? Can a Conservative be a Feminist?
Red State Feminists are convinced that you can sincerely be both a feminist and a conservative. Many believe that feat impossible, but millions of women in the United States already live its precepts everyday.
What is a feminist? As you can imagine, the definitions are legion. However, all share the view that women are the equals of men while being different from men. What "equal" means and how "different" women are from men are terms also subject to debate. For example, can women be as brave as men? Sure. Can the strongest women lift a heavier weight than the strongest man? No. Does that make them different? Well, they are apparenty different in some things but not others. Does that difference mean women can never be the equals of men? Red State Feminists do not believe so.

Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live?

I don't think so, but there was some speculation on Fox News & Friends this morning CLEARLY stated as speculation. Seems the Secret Service have been checking out the floor where Saturday Night Live is shot, which is something they do before one of the candidates appears.

I think it's going to be Barack Obama. He postponed his appearance before due to the hurricane.

He won't postpone the debates due to a financial hurricane and doesn't want the topic changed. National security and related? Who care right now when most of us are thinking about our stocks, 401K's. retirement and our future financial well-being?

I don't want Sarah on SNL after how they were so nasty to her husband and children with the incest skit. Unless the reason she's on there is so the entire cast can walk up front and APOLOGIZE profusely.

Now, if Barack goes on there during this financial crisis it'll show what he's really thinking about (which we already know), and that is numero uno, Barack Obama.

We have a financial crisis and he's having $30,000 a ticket fund raisers. We're wondering where our next dollar is coming from to pay for gas and he's flying a plane back and forth to debates. How much gas is THAT going to take? Why aren't the environmental types out protesting?

The Left is trying to spread the idea around that John McCain is scared to debate Obama. Sure guys, show your intelligence on that one! John McCain is the one who wanted around 10 town hall meetings with Barack Obama and your guy is the one who turned them all down, couldn't handle talking to John McCain and a group of people at the same time. Gee, isn't that multi-tasking? What is so scary about talking to the American People and answering their questions?

Which has me thinking about Barack Obama's talks to the public. Has he done any talks where he answered questions from the "regular" people or just from the press? Every talk I've seen has him standing behind a teleprompter.

Chaplain Wants Students to Have College Credits for Voting Obama?

If you had any doubts, any at all, that our colleges were staffed with liberal nutcases, here's a story to take you to the believin' side of things!

A Chaplain at the University of Massachusetts sent out an email offering two college credits to students who would be willing to campaign for Barack Obama. Yes, a Chaplain, a supposed servant of God at a school of supposed higher learning wanted to circumvent ethics and give away college credits if someone was willing to help elect his earthly god, Barack Obama. What minister would ever do something like that? It's cheating. It's slimy. It should cost him his position. But it won't.

Whatever happened to separation of church and government? Isn't that some big tenet of libs? Guess it's another one of those situational things. If they like the situation they change the parameters and their actions.

If the Chaplain isn't fired for the ethical side of things, then he should be let go for stupidity. He should have to go sit with the dumb kid who hacked into Sarah Palin's email account. Both of them crossed the line, went way over the line, when it came to their politics.

I believe if this Chaplain hadn't been dumb enough to put his in writing that it would be happening. Of course, it may still happen but who's going to be able to prove it? Of course the college has to deny it and back pedal. They're probably irritated the Chaplain sent our a public email.

Just when I think this election can't get any wackier, along comes a chaplain who has his god's mixed up.

UMass chaplain fails in effort to boost Barack Obama’s
chances

University of Massachusetts officials yesterday quashed efforts by an
Amherst campus chaplain to offer two college credits to any student willing to campaign in New Hampshire this fall for Democrat Barack Obama.

Chaplain Ken Higgins told students in a Sept. 18 e-mail, “If you’re
scared about the prospects for this election, you’re not alone. The most
important way to make a difference in the outcome is to activate yourself. It would be just fine with McCain if Obama supporters just think about helping, then sleep in and stay home between now and Election Day.”

Higgins added that an unnamed “sponsor” in the university’s History
Department would offer a two-credit independent study for students willing to canvass or volunteer on behalf of the Democratic nominee.

Inquiring minds (mine among them) want to know who this "sponsor" might be. Do you think the university mucky-mucks are going to follow up to find out? Do you think they'll do anything to this Chaplain (if they even can)? Do you think schools across the country are going to take note and say, gee, maybe we ought to institute a similar program? What kind of thought process did this Chaplain and the "sponsor" engage in (and what were they drinking)? Did the guy not take logic in seminary? ethics?

More on NBC - try a Google Search on "Boycott NBC"

If we could get all these groups together we might actually get somewhere with a boycott of NBC! The posts below aren't even the tip of the iceberg! One thing I found interesting is that a boycott was proposed a while back because of an incest joke about Michael Jackson... No comments from the peanut gallery please. Newt called for a boycott a while back also. I say quite a bit of discussion about it but obviously it didn't get too far. I guess too many love their television programs more than they love their principles.

Boycott NBC: Not by coincidence, the network bashing Christianity
By Michael Gaynor
NBC contemptuously and contemptibly chooses to bash Christianity and to ridicule Christian beliefs and values for profit and fun. It is a network that good people of all faiths should shun, unless and until it really repents what it has done and swears to refrain from doing it again. In "The Lord's Prayer," Jesus said, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Like some noxious NBC programming. NBC, the acronym for National Broadcasting Company, is determined to mock Christianity. So boycott NBC as long as it remains the Network Bashing Christianity!

Boycott NBC?
December 07, 2007 07:07 PM EST views: 199 There is no question that NBC is one of the most liberal broadcast networks around. Over on MSNBC, they have Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann. They have given, not sold but given, Al Gore more than 35 hours of time to peddle his global warming propaganda with no such allowance for the other side.

Boycott NBC and Its Affiliates!
I’m not quick to call for a boycott but this situation certainly calls for one.
NBC has decided to not air advertising this Christmas season because it is too controversial. The controversy - skimpy Victoria’s Secret ads? PETA animal rights ads? Anti-abortion ads? No. The controversy is thanking our American troops for protecting our security and freedoms.

Gillespie: ‘It Is Beyond Me’ Why Republicans Won’t Boycott NBC»
Yesterday, Bush counselor Ed Gillespie sent an angry letter to NBC president Steve Capus demanding that the network run a correction for what he called the network’s “selective editing” of an interview with President Bush. NBC pointed out that the full interview “has been available, unedited, in its entirety, for the past day, on our website.”
Gillespie — and the rest of the right wing — was not mollified. Appearing on Glenn Beck’s radio show today, Gillespie continued to attack NBC. When Beck asked why conservatives continue to appear on the network, Gillespie replied, “It is beyond me frankly”:
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/05/20/gillespie-boycott/

To: NBC
By now, we have all heard about the charges that were brought against Michael Jackson years ago, which were then dropped by the people who filed charges against him. NBC, however, felt the need to re-try Michael and find him guilty and depict him as a child molestor in November 10th's episode of Saturday Night Live. If you were unfortunate to see this episode, you were more than likely as disgusted and upset as the signers of this petition were. One can only think that NBC did this in an effort to hurt Michael's career.

Boycott NBC
The recent decision by NBC news to broadcast portions of the video provided them by Cho Seung-Hui, the mass murderer behind the killing of 32 innocent students and teachers at Virginia Tech University is deplorable. The airing of his self-promoting propaganda only serves to disrespect the victims, further victimizes their families and endangers the community at large.

Newt calls for NBC boycott, why bother?
December 7, 2007 · Print This Article
Today on FoxNews Newt Gingrich called for a boycott of NBC because of its refusal to allow a paid ad by Freedoms Watch that calls for supporting the troops. While I applaud the former speaker I have to ask, who watches NBC now?
I would stop watching NBC but I had already done so. I will admit I tuned in to NBC for Sunday Night Football the first week of the season but when they had Keith Olbermann on the halftime show I turned it off and haven’t watched since. Asking people to boycott watching NBC is like asking people to boycott jumping off cliffs. You can’t stop doing what you don’t do now.

Boycott NBC! Boycott Saturday Night Live. This is DISGUSTING!

What do you think would be happening right now if Saturday Night Live had done this skit on Barack Obama or his wife rather than Todd Palin? Do you think it would ever hit their radar? I found this reprehensible. Incest is never funny and I would feel the same way if they HAD smeared Obama like this. They hide behind "it's a joke about newspaper coverage". I just finished listening to one of Barack Obama's spokespeople saying the New York Times went after THEM. So what's SNL doing just picking on Todd Palin? And why in the world would they do it using incest? We need to write NBC. We need to email NBC. We need to stop watching the channel after we get a list of advertisers to boycott. Free speech is one thing, this goes way, way over the line.

Thanks to all those who are fighting for our freedom and safety!

McCain has new ad out, Chicago Machine

Hard hitting, but not long enough since a lot of people aren't going to have a clue who those people mentioned in the ad are (although you'd have to live on the moon not to know who Tony Rezko was)! Most of us will know, and we know the list of bad associates of Barack Obama is a long one (read the book Obamanation). I have a marketing background so I understand they're having to paint with broad strokes and that they are building a picture of Obama. Every ad chips away a bit of the facade that Obama has built around his true self and designs.

Being a Barracuda Babe with access to factual data and good info (ta da), I'm here to help all those who don't know who the people mentioned in the ad might be with the ad facts put out by the McCain-Palin campaign . I've posted them after the ad.

Rod Dreher: The Beehive buzzes for Sarah Palin
07:47 AM CDT on Sunday, September 21, 2008
If you want to understand why Sarah Palin has made such a powerful connection with American voters, don't listen to the political professionals. Listen to the voice of the Beehive.

The Beehive is the Wasilla hair salon where Ms. Palin has had her hair done since 2002. She kept going back to the Beehive even after she became the state's governor. A New York Times profile of the salon revealed a Steel Magnolias-style place where a close-knit community of women shares their everyday trials and triumphs. Ms. Palin remained loyal to the Beehive even after she hit the big time. She's that kind of woman, and people sense that about her.

It should be obvious, of course, that one shouldn't choose vice presidents based on hair care. That's not the point. Ms. Palin's relationship to the Beehive telegraphs both her authenticity and her sense of community. She's the real deal – and that made a "gut values connection" with Americans.

Google Alerts for the Day

Here's the blogs and news stories Google chose to send me today. Tell me there's not a bias! There's one I want to read, it's the one about beehive buzzes for Sarah Palin. I can't turn on the television without hearing Sarah Palin's name and I can't pick up a newspaper without seeing it and somehow this is the best Google can come up with! They're definitely not picking up any conservative blogs. Sooner or later they're going to get mad at me for continuing to harass them and my blog is going to disappear, right after the Read My Lips Network blog because I saw a comment on that one, too. I may have some fun with the Google alerts and put in the word conservative, another for Republican, and maybe some other terms just to see what they choose to send! It's a great service in theory.

Bush Lauded by Nat'l Organization of Community Organizers

Yesterday the National Organization of Community Organizers bestowed its most prestigious award on George W Bush for outstanding work in the organization of communities in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"It's truly an honor to receive such a covetized award," the president said in a few brief remarks at the ceremony honoring his achievement, "but we cannot forget that this was made possible only through the work and dedication of our excellent military personnel." Alaskan Pilots Do NOT Want Us to Elect Sarah Palin!!!

A friend of ours just got back from a big fly-in for pilots of some type small airplane. Pilots came from all over the country for the big multi-day shindig. According to our friend, to a man all of the pilots from Alaska tried their best to talk everyone out of voting for Sarah Palin.

I was shocked given her high approval ratings and all the good reports from Alaska. I could understand one, maybe two, but not all of these guys. I have no idea how many we're talking about, but it was more than a few!

Why? Why? Why?

It's because they don't want to lose her as Governor!
They said she is the first truly honest Governor they've had.
They said she was doing a great job.
They said they wanted to keep her!

Talk about a huge endorsement for Sarah Palin as Vice President!

Did I scare you? Did you think this was going to be something bad? It is bad. It's bad for Obama!

A must-read from our newest network member! Go Sarah!!

Obama makes sexist remarks in Michigan. Read my lipstick!!
I found this on You Tube. Obama patronizes women calling them "Sweetie" as he dismisses their petty and inconsequential (it appears to him, becuz they are women!) concerns. This is his visit to a Michigan auto facility. Michigan female auto workers, Michigan female voters - American workers and women - please don't vote for a man who thinks women can be patronized, dismissed and called "Sweetie".

http://sarahpalindeservesourvote.blogspot.com/2008/09/obama-makes-sexist-remarks-in-michigan.html

Worse than disgraceful!

I heard about this in passing but so far it hasn't been anything the media is willing to mention (surprise, surprise). It is disgraceful and shows Barack Obama's true nature. Unfortunately, this is just one more thing that most will not hear about given the media code of silence when it comes to Barack Obama's many, many flaws.

Figured someone might be interested in Google's picks

A few of us in the Read My Lipstick Network have set up Google alerts on Sarah Palin's name. I get a daily list of all the stories Google thinks are important that include Sarah Palin's name for any reason. It's blogs and news stories. It's a real good indicator of the "mentality' of Google's search algorithms. I thought I'd start sharing these just so you can see how rare it is that a positive blog about Sarah Palin gets picked up by Google. There are hundreds and hundreds of positive blogs being penned every day about her and to date I have maybe seen one positive included in the list. I know some of my Lipstick sisters have already written about this and I may have mentioned it myself at some point in a prior blog, so I won't say more, but just know I'm in agreement. I'm not sure if it's wise to be dissing Google given I'm using one of their free services (blogger) so I type with trepidation. I noted that a couple of anti-Obama blog titles had been banned from blogger and am not sure of the reason!

News stories (blogs at the end):

I'm searching the blogs and Internet for the Democrat

I'm dying of curiosity so I've been out searching for who it might be. My husband speculated that it might be Geraldine Ferraro. She has been fairly supportive of Sarah Palin and said at one point she wasn't sure who she was voting for or that she was considering who to vote for or something like that. Later she said she was voting for Obama so I can't see her switching.

Who could it be? Any ideas?

I have found a few stories on Democrats supporting John McCain.

FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS
DENVER — As Democrats try to mollify disappointed supporters of Hillary Clinton, Republicans pushed the theme Monday that Democrats are divided and open to voting for John McCain.
To try to cement the point, the Republican National Committee’s Denver ‘‘war room’’ presented a trio of Clinton supporters and a former Democratic congressman, each of whom is supporting McCain.
‘‘He is a true statesman who will always put the country first,’’ said Tim Penney a former Democratic congressman from Minnesota, now an independent. ‘‘With Obama, we have words; with McCain, we have deeds. With Obama, we have rhetoric; with McCain, we have a record.’’

MANCHESTER, NH -- The McCain-Palin campaign today announced that New Hampshire State Representative Doreen Howard, a Democratic legislator from Newmarket, has endorsed John McCain for president. Representative Howard previously supported Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's candidacy.

"As a lifelong Democrat who enthusiastically backed Hillary Clinton in the primaries, I am now supporting John McCain. Like Senator Clinton, McCain values the importance of public service. Both Clinton and McCain put country first and that's critically important," said Howard. "John McCain and Sarah Palin are mavericks who have proven they can deliver real reform. As our nation faces challenges at home and abroad, Americans will benefit from their experience, judgment and strong leadership."

Elected in 2006, Representative Howard is a member of the State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs Committee. She represents Newmarket and Newfields.
Representative Howard supported John Kerry in 2004 and Al Gore in 2000.
